[SasuNaru]
Fix this thingy and post it somewhere later.Sasuke tightened his scarf around his neck. The cold, biting wind blowing harder as he walked down the street. The snow on the sidewalk was turning into slush from the footsteps and getting all over his shoes and black dress pants. Looking down at his feet, he sighed at his numb feet, and shoved his hands in the pockets of his coat, hoping that would help his feet. He knew that wouldn't do anything for his feet, but thought it was better to keep his hands there, anyway. He picked up his pace the best he could while being so cold. He pulled himself into his coat more, as the wind blew icy snow toward him. He shuddered and, looking at his surrounding, realized where he was and made a sharp left. Sasuke entered a small cafe and looked around. He wiped his soaked feet on the rough rug, and continued further into the store. "Sasuke! You're late!" a blond haired girl shouted from behind the counter. She stood with her arms, flat palmed, on the counter. Her soft blue eyes, narrowed in the boys direction. Her blond hair pulled into her signature four ponytails. She wore a black apron with a sky blue button up top, and black slacks. "Now, hurry up," she ordered. "Yeah, yeah," the dark haired boy said. He started to unbutton his coat as opened the door to the back. Quickly stuffing his coat in his locker, he grabbed his apron and put it on. Sighing, and keeping a solemn face, stepped through the door, behind the counter, where he was met with a death glare. "So why are you so late?" she asked. Her voice wasn't kind. Well, it shouldn't be, since Sasuke was a half hour late. "Well, I wasn't about to drive here," he bit back at her. "So I had to walk. It takes a while." He wasn't going to tell her the truth: that he over slept and didn't feel like hurrying to get to work. But what he said about not wanting to drive is true. Who, in the right mind, would want to drive when there's three inches of snow on the road? "Humph, not good enough. You're lucky I don't feel like doing paperwork, otherwise I'd write you up." Sasuke rolled his eyes behind the blonde's back. "Whatever, Temari," Sasuke muttered under his breath. She turned slightly towards him and glared, then changed expressions quickly enough and finished waiting on the customer. Sasuke knew she was mad, but wasn't in a good enough mood to try and change that. Sometimes when he knew that it was his fault, he'd try and make it better. But today, he was in a bad mood himself, and didn't feel like acting. He looked about for something to do; some busy work. Finding nothing, he decided on just, what Temari called it, "standing there and looking like a fucktard." He must have done that a lot because whenever any other employee does it, Temari shouts, "You look just like that fucktard, Sasuke!" Heh, some boss she is. Sasuke heard Temari thank the customer for coming in, and hoped they had a wonderful day. He noticed she was about to step closer to him and say something to him, until the bell on the door rang. "Hi there!" Temari greeted from behind the counter, something they we forced to do. Sasuke, wanting to find something interesting, looked up at the guest. Sasuke studied the newcomer. He had blond spiked hair, bright blue eyes, tan skin. He was wearing light blue jeans, that were soaked at the bottom from the snow, and a deep green water proof coat. He had a black scarf wrapped tightly around his neck, and had his hands stuffed in his pockets. The blond seems to be in his teens, still in high school, about the same age as him. Sasuke found he was mildly interested in this guy. Before Temari could do anything else, Sasuke stepped closer to the front counter. "What can I get for you?" He said in a monotone voice. What? No matter what he did, his voice just couldn't hold excitement. No matter how hard he tried. He stepped up to the counter. The blonde's face was flushed from the cold. He smiled and put a hand behind his head. "I was wondering if you happened to be hiring. You know, if I could have an application?" Sasuke stood with his blank, emotionless expression, staring back at the blond haired boy. The boy chuckled, nervously, and shifted his feet under Sasuke's stare. "Sure," Sasuke said. Temari stood with her hands on her hips, watching the scene play out. Sasuke, trying to move his eyes away from the boy, felt around underneath the register for an application. Temari made a choking noise, which made Sasuke give her a look. Rolling his eyes away from the girl, he started to pay attention to getting the paper. When it was finally retrieved, Sasuke slammed it on the counter top and slid it over to the boy. The boy chuckled again and asked for a pen, and also a tall French vanilla cap. with two shots of caramel. Sasuke had to admit the kid knew what to drink. Temari whipped up the drink as Sasuke started to ring it up. In the middle of the transaction, he stopped and voided it. The blond boy gave him a look, in which Sasuke just said, unsmiling, "On the house." The blond smiled at Sasuke as he pushed a pen, the application, and the drink over towards the other side of the counter. He loosened his scarf before taking the items into his hand. Blushing, he muttered a thanks, and hurried off to a near by table. Sasuke didn't notice he was watching the other boy take a seat with his back towards Temari and himself, until someone cleared their throat rather loudly. Sasuke swiveled his glare to the older girl. "You know you're paying for that right?" "Hn," he mumbled. Sasuke did the transaction over, and when the drawer opened, he pulled out his own wallet and threw the necessary three dollars into the register. When he looked back up he noticed the other blond turned slightly, watching him. Sasuke could feel his face heat up just a little bit. He slammed the drawer closed and turned to look at Temari. She had her hands on her hips, in an authoritative position. "You know, I should just fire you and hire this kid," she said quietly, but sternly. "He might make a better employee." "Tsk," Sasuke's noise didn't make it to Temari's ears. Sasuke's face was still red. Why it was red, Sasuke didn't know. The look the other student gave him made him nervous. It made him second guess things. And yes, Temari could fire him on the spot if she wanted to, and she had a lot of reasons to do so. But both of them knew she wouldn't. Sasuke attracted a lot of customers to her small cafe. All the girls that stalked Sasuke knew where he worked, and would come and visit. Well, be extremely annoying, if you asked Sasuke. They would buy a cookie, or a drink, just so that they could say that they had talked to Sasuke. Sasuke would shake his head in disappointment at this. They didn't talk to him. They were just there. Ordering a coffee like the 73 year old man that came in every day to order the same thing: a venti decaf coffee. Sasuke liked his job. He was usually good at his job. That is, unless he was having a bad day already. Which he was. Threatening to get fired usually implies that he's doing bad. He wasn't really though. Both him and Temari seemed to be in bad moods and neither one felt like working. The place was going to be dead anyways. Looking out the front windows, Sasuke noted how much snow was falling, it didn't look like it was going to end anytime soon. Sasuke wondered why the blond decided to do this today. Why today of all days, when he could be at home, warm and still in bed. He watched the blond stop in his writing and ponder something on the application. He stuck the pen under his top lip and looked up at the ceiling in wonder. Sasuke seemed totally entranced by this boy. "Sasuke!" Temari's sharp voice broke him out of his staring. He quickly averted his eyes, and narrowed them at the girl. "What?" he snapped back at her. So far, this day was bad, and the blond boy was the only thing keeping the dark boy from walking out of the cafe. He wondered exactly why that was. He didn't know this boy, they just looked to be about the same age. There was something from this kid that you could tell just from looking at him that he was someone that you wanted to know. It must have been his aura. "Are you just gonna stand there looking like a fucktard or go outside and do what I asked you to?" "Huh?" Sasuke didn't usually bring himself down to the level of a retard, but he totally missed what his boss was talking about. "Shoveling the snow, that's what! Now get to work!" She shouted. Sasuke didn't grumble or anything, even though he really wanted to. He grabbed his coat and scarf and took his merry time putting them on. He rummaged through a closet that was rarely used and found the snow shovel. As Sasuke went out from behind the counter, he stole a quick glance at the blond boy. His face was all screwed up in concentration. Filling out an application wasn't that difficult, Sasuke thought. Is this kid a little slow or something, Sasuke thought, letting a confused expression slide onto his face. He shook his head and opened the cafe door, allowing a rush of cold wind enter the store. An angry "Sasuke!" could be heard through the gush, but Sasuke ignored it. Sasuke wondered if the blond haired kid really wanted to work here with such a crazy boss. Usually Temari would have watched her mouth or what she was yelling if someone wanted to apply. The cafe needed workers, so she was usually extremely nice towards everyone, and didn't yell unless they were in the back or no one was in the cafe. She must have been in a really bad mood that day. The dark haired boy started shoveling the snow. He didn't want to be outside in the cold. His thoughts started to wander. He began thinking about the new school year approaching. His mind shuddered at the thought, and quickly tried to think of something else. Fangirls were, and always will be, his worst nightmare. They did nothing good for him, and never would. He also realized that he wouldn't be able to work nearly as much, therefore, the much needed currency wouldn't be as easy to come by. He threw a shovel full of snow over his shoulder. He heard a slight shout come from behind him, and turned around. With wide eyes, he stared as he turned to see the blond boy from the cafe, snow covering his coat, his hair, his face. Sasuke wasn't one for apologizing, or speaking much at all, so he just didn't say anything. He just stood there in shock instead. The blond just shook his head, and wiped the snow from his face and most of his coat. While Sasuke stood there with disbelief, the blond just looked up at him and smiled. "Haha! Sorry about that!" The blond laughed. He scratched the back of his head, and continued to laugh. Sasuke's jaw slackened slightly. "I'm fine really!" He said. "...." Sasuke opened his mouth to say something, but it took him a moment to actually form words. "I throw snow on you, and you apologize?" Sasuke couldn't believe it. For some reason, he just thought that this was all extremely silly. He chuckled again. "Well, I know that you didn't mean to do it. It wasn't on purpose, right?" His smile not fading at all. "Tsk. Of course it wasn't on purpose. I didn't even hear you come out of the store," the raven felt his face heat up. He was glad that his face was already red because of the weather. The blond's smile widened. "See nothing to worry about," the other boy seemed to think that Sasuke was, indeed, worried that he had thrown snow on the kid. Sasuke wasn't really all that worried about it. He was more or less shocked that someone could actually sneak up behind him. The blond took the hand that was behind his head and pushed out to the dark-haired boy. "Uzumaki Naruto." he introduced himself. Sasuke glared at the impending object in front of him like it was the crusty stuff that formed on the latte machine when it wasn't cleaned in a while. Finally, Sasuke took his hand off the shovel and placed it in the others. "Uchiha Sasuke." The blond jolted slightly at the name, but quickly regained him composure. He didn't do it fast enough for the Uchiha to miss. Sasuke pulled his eyebrows together and wondered about it. "Uchiha Sasuke, huh? Nice to meet you!" "Likewize, Uzumaki-kun." Sasuke pulled his hand back and put it back to its original place on the shovel. "No need to be formal!" Uzumaki shouted, his voice level literally raising. "Naruto is fine." "Likewize." Sasuke, no longer interested. This Naruto character was like no one else he had ever met. He was annoyingly bright and happy, but it was also calming, and comforting. "Well then Sasuke. I'd better get going. I don't want to be the reason your boss unleashes her wrath on you!" He chuckled. Sasuke couldn't help but let a small, barely noticeable, smile creep onto his face. "Not like it matters anyways," he said, letting the smile fade a little bit. "She would yell at me regardless," he shrugged. The blond gave a small smile. "Oh well," Sasuke shrugged again. Naruto's smile became really wide. "Ah, well," the blond face seemed a bit more flushed than before, "I still should get going. I'll see you again, soon, ne?" Sasuke nodded, more enthusiastically than he wanted to. His face felt heated, and the brightness radiating off the other was making him feel rather warm. Sasuke felt a slight tingle when the blond flashed him another dashing smile, then shuffled past him. "See ya!" Naruto waved with his back turned to Sasuke. The now extremely flustered boy turned around just in time to see the wave, then the other stuff his hand into his pocket. He heard the blond cough loudly a few times and continued trudging on. He must be sick... Sasuke thought as he continued staring after the boy. Why is he out on a day like this, really? Is this the only time to do job searching? He has such blond hair, that slightly odd around here. I wonder if he's a foreigner.... Sasuke didn't realize that his mind was completely stuck on the blond. Sasuke tried to think of another time of seeing him; nothing came to mind. Naruto seemed to be about the same age as Sasuke. Is Naruto new around here, is that why he needs a job? Does he live by himself? Sasuke finally got back to shoveling the snow, his mind still racing about his encounter. It didn't even occur to him that he was thinking an awful lot about the boy he had never met. Sasuke liked the way the boy seemed to always be smiling. His aura was bright and cheerful, making everything around warm and happy. Sasuke stopped mid-shovel and took a gloved hand and slapped it against his forehead. Oh great! Now I can't stop thinking about him! What the hell is this? Irritated now, the raven boy did his best to not think about the blond that invaded his mind so quickly. He shoveled the snow in a hurry, wanting to get out of the cold. Without entirely realizing it, he would occasionally look towards the direction the blond headed in, just to see if he was coming back. Wow, Sasuke thought bitterly, 20 minutes near the guy and I already have a crush on him. Heh, I wonder if he gets that a lot? Finished working, the teen shook off his clothing and tapped his shoes, trying to rid of the snow, and headed back into the cafe. He completely ignored Temari. She could have been screaming at him all she wanted, but Sasuke wouldn't have heard a word of it. He didn't bother hiding the small smile that slithered its way onto his face. He was off in his own world. Uzumaki Naruto, I can't wait until we meet again. Sasuke would have had no idea that Naruto was, indeed, hoping that they would meet again soon. And maybe even work together, both of them thought. Sasuke let a full smile appear on his face as he took off his coat and gloves and hung them. Naruto pumped a fist in the air and made a triumphant cheer. This could be fun... Temari thought to herself as she peered into the back room, seeing Sasuke smiling widely and daydreaming into the coat closet. mood: busy music: Smile - Lily Allen |

Title: Seasons Author: barbwirexkiss Pairings: Axel x Roxas (maybe more, but I don't know yet) Rating: T (for swearing, and later chapters.. maybe) Genre: AU, highschool whatnot. Summary: Roxas has a crush on the bad boy, Axel. A little ashamed but still can't hide his feelings, he eventually gives in and tells Axel. What will happen to the goody-two-shoes if he dates the troublemaker Axel? Axel's P.O.V. It was close to the end of summer. School had just started, and kids were still outside, playing and running around in the streets. Didn't their parents and teachers tell them that being out in the street is BAD? Anyways. I was walking two blocks away to the elementary school to sit on the swings. It was nice outside, still pretty hot, but it was around 6 and I needed to be outside, sitting inside wasn't healthy for me. I like video games. Maybe too much... Oh well. I walked through someone's yard to get to the playground faster, then through a small patch of woods. When I reached the playground, I found it empty. Even though it wasn't. On the swing set on one of the middle swings was a blond hair boy. He looked to be a bit younger than I, and a lot shorter. As I got closer to the swing set, I noticed an abanded skateboard on the side of the pavement. I shoved my hands into my pockets and watched the boy as I got closer. I wondered if he noticed my presence. He was staring at the mulch as if it were the most interesting thing ever. I took the swing to his left, and shuffled my feet in the mulch to try and get him to look up. "How'd I know you were going to come here?" he asked me. I wasn't surprised what he said. "Because I usually come here." "Why?" He hadn't looked up yet. "I don't know, maybe because I like to rape the little boys that are running around here." The blond haired boy scoffed at what I said. I smiled, taking that as a covered up for a chuckle. "You're like that aren't you? Just make random comments and you don't care what anyone else thinks about them." I thought about his observation for a moment. "Yeah, I guess that's true. But I do care what certain people think." I nodded in agreement with myself. The blond boy finally looked up at me, with narrowed eyes. "So, Roxas, why are you up here? And how come you've just left your precious skateboard laying over there?" The boy, now identified as Roxas, narrowed his eyes further then whipped his head back down to the ground. "What's it to you?" He asked gingerly. I shrugged. "I don't know, Roxy. But I hear you've been coming up here a lot lately, skating around, sit on the swings, then when it gets dark enough, you go home. Is there something you're waiting for? Or any reason you come up here for that long?" I felt bad for interrogating him like this, but I wanted to know. He kicked up some mulch and said nothing. For a while we just sat in silence, waiting for one of us to talk. I sat staring at him, while he, again, watched the mulch. I opened my mouth to say something, try and get him to say something, when he made a noise. "I'm sorry, what was that?" I asked, nicely. "I said..." He trailed off, hesitating in what he wanted to say. "I wanted to see you." I expected this, but was also a little taken back. "Really now? Why?" I kicked the chips of wood again, and when he did, the wind moved his hair. I got to see a glimpse of the bright red blush on his face. "I mean, we barely know each other. We've met three times I think. We may go to school together, but we are in different grades, have different classes. I rarely see you." I felt like I had either pissed him off, or broke his heart. Either way, I still felt bad, but it needed said. He kicked the mulch again, this time with absolutely no enthusiasm at all. "I know," he mumbled. "Roxas." I said, turning in my swing as much as I could and still be comfortable. I looked at the back of his blond spiky head. His neck as sun burnt from the summer sun, he was wearing a white polo, jeans with a few holes and black skate shoes. He didn't look at me even though I said his name. I let out a small sigh, "I won't tell anyone." I extended my hand close to his face so that he would see the action I took. When he noticed my hand he stared at it for a second in confusion, then he moved his confused and shocked stare at my face. I smiled at him. He sat upright in the swing, no longer slouching down to the ground. Even though he was still looking at me perplexed, he took my hand and blushed harder. He couldn't hide his smile as he laced our fingers together and gave my hand a squeeze. "You aren't allowed to be shy around me anymore, okay, Roxas?" He nodded. I don't think he was even listening to me anymore. That was fine with me. As long as he didn't lose that adorable smile on his face. Finally, my long-time crush is holding my hand. I couldn't have been happier. I couldn't believe this is real. (JHkjghrfi78t798ug876*&^%*&%&^%6JHdghtr^%E Uyrtd764e)Author note: Right, okay. So I wrote this because I needed something to write that'll get me back into creative writing. I NEEDED to write something that wasn't something I was already working on. I was going to go insane! DXX Ahhh! Okay well. I have the next chapter pretty much ready if anyone wants it, please drop me a comment. I'd like to keep writing this but I don't want to write it if no one wants to read it. Yeah.... <3333 I'm sorry! Please comment! Tootles! mood: blah music: Wishful Thinking - The Ditty Bops |

Title: Company Secrets Pairings: Axel x Roxas Rating: T for language. Summary: Roxas is forced by his twin, Sora, to go to business camp with him. After getting separated from Sora, the only reason he was there, and being put in the same dorm as a lunatic, Roxas is pretty much ready to go home. Disclaimer: Don't own. Chapter 1: [You can't stand me] Company Secrets
Chapter II: Part II: EveningAfter listening to some short gay guy talk about all the rules and regulations of PFEW, and how he hopes "God" blesses us all, we were split up into our companies. Lucky me, I got assigned to be in Demyx's group. No Axel, thankfully. No Sora, sadly. Our company meetings were on the second floor of Macarthur Lounge, in some really depressing and cold room. It looked more like a large cell for crazy people: white walls, two very very tiny windows, and also had two black boards, and about 20 or so desks. "Well, come on Roxy. Lets sit next to each other!" "Roxas. My name is Roxas." I muttered under my breath. This was going to be longer than I anticipated. "Okay everyone! Please sit down!" Our company adviser (all he does is make sure our work gets done, he isn't here to help us... That jerk-face.) shouted over the non-talking of everyone. That's right, you read correctly, no one was talking. Then again we were all strangers here. I only knew Demyx out of luck. Pfft, some luck that is. After pulling the desks in a large circle, and Demyx taking a seat next to me, our company adviser, Joe, began talking about the week ahead of us and blah blah blah. I wasn't really caring about what he had to say. "So how about we go around in the circle and tell everyone a bit about yourselves?" I saw Demyx sit up straight. He was literally bouncing in his seat. He spoke to me when he noticed that I was giving him a curious look. "I LOVE meeting new people!" ...Well good for you, Demyx. You don't have to do jumping jacks for it."Okay," Joe said, slapping his hands together then rubbing them greedily. I was starting to get a little creeped out by this guy. "I'll ask a few questions and we'll all go around and answer them. Only one word answers if possible!" A few people looked excited to be here and about meeting new people, ahem-Demyx-ahem, but there were a couple people who probably felt like I did. They either wanted to just go back to their dorm, or home. Me, I wanted to go home. While they were going in the circle and gave their various one word answers, I thought of possible ways to "accidentally" hurt myself so I could go home. While staring at the ceiling, contemplating, I got an elbow in the side. "Roxy!" Demyx whispered. "Roxas! My name is Roxas!" I glared at Demyx who just chuckled lightly. I looked around me and noticed that all eyes were on me. "Uuuh, what was the question?" I asked Joe, scratching the back of my head. "You already answered, Roxas." "O..kay." I said looking back at the desk, now a little flustered. I heard Demyx chuckle again to my left. This was getting annoying. ...Or I could just get myself kicked out by punching either Demyx, or even better, Axel. Not that I have anything really against Axel, yet. I didn't know him well enough. But after what little time we really did spend together, I already wanted to punch him and wouldn't regret it in the slightest. "Roxas!" "Yes, sir?" I said, looking at Joe. "Just call me Joe, not sir. Anyways. Were you paying attention?" I shook my head, being honest. And really, to be honest, I didn't give a shit what the guy had to say. Joe sighed. "The question was, if you could go anywhere in the world right now where would you go?" Home."Um, Probably New Zealand." "Interesting," he said. I noted that he made a comment in his little trapper keeper/binder thing. Seriously, what adult carries one of those around? I haven't touched one of those things since I was in the 6th grade. Anyhow, he was probably making a comment about me not being able to pay attention. You know what? It freaking happens. Things are just boring, I've had little sleep and a long drive, and I just want to get back to the dorm so I can fix up my bed and go to sleep. I pulled my cell phone out of my pocket, even though we aren't really supposed to have them (what're they gonna do, take it away from me?! Ha!) and checked the time. 2 o'clock. Damnit. Registration was over at 11:30, and the meeting with the short annoying guy was over at 1:45. Wow. This really is a lot longer than I thought. Well, there was about another half hour of questions, really ridiculous ones at that. "What's your biggest worry??" being one of them. I mean, what kind of a question is that? And maybe I don't really know what my biggest worry is, or maybe I don't really worry about anything! It's none of your business! Whoops. Rambled on too much there. We were in The Cell for a while, talking and getting to know each other. We found out more about the week. Our product was cell phones. Yay. That's all the information we get about it. The rest is for the "company" to make up. We had to come up with a name, special features, and other things for cellular devices. Cell phones seemed easy enough. I wasn't too worried about it. Maybe I should have been though. "Now," Joe said, standing, "we need a name for our product. We'll start there." Like we'd start anywhere else."Anyone have any ideas?" he said, walking over to one of the chalk boards and picking up a piece of chalk. A few people had ideas, others took other people's and expanded them. But. They all basically sucked. In my opinion, at least. But then again, who was I to talk? Blah blah blah. A lot of unimportant, not even note worthy stuff went on. I met a couple of really awesome people, and Demyx got on my nerves a little more but everything was going well. I was finally waking up a bit. Too much going on around me to be sleepy. "Hi there, um, Roxas?" "Yeah?" I turned around to see a blond skinny girl standing behind me, slightly blushing. "Hi there." She was cute. Thin frame, long blond hair, blue eyes, pale skin. She was wearing a light blue knee length skirt, and a white tank top, with white flip flops. She was very pretty. Crap. "You're name is Roxas, correct?" I put a hand behind my head and looked up to the ceiling. "Uh, yeah. That's me. And I'm sorry," now I looked at her, "I didn't catch your name." "Namine," she giggled. Yeah, crap. Girls and me usually equal trouble. For me. Girls clingy. Roxas likes his space. "That's a nice name." She giggled again at the compliment. Right now would be a really good time for Demyx to come around. I looked around the room to see him involved in talking to a somewhat nerdy kid. Great, looks like a can't depend on Demyx. I sighed and looked back at Namine. Her smile faded a little and she looked at me somewhat seriously. "So did you come here with someone you know?" I nodded. "Yeah." "Oh? Like a friend?" I looked to her left, my right, at the desk there. "No, my brother." "Oh! Is he younger or older than you." Double shit. "Er, no, we're twins." "You're a twin?!" Namine squealed. I hate telling people that I'm a twin. I always get the same reaction. All the girls freak out because, supposedly, I'm oh-so-hott and there's two of me. Whatever. Girls can be so annoying sometimes. When Namine squealed that I heard a couple of girls go "He's a twin?! Do they look alike? I hope he's as cute as Roxas!" I hate it when stupid girls say that. They are automatically judging my brother. YOU DON'T KNOW HIM! DON'T SAY STUPID STUFF! Is what I really want to shout at them, but instead I just keep a blank face and shrug. "Yeah." Not going any further than that. "Well, that's cool! I've always wanted a sister. I'm an only child though." "Oh, well," I shrugged, "I guess your life is quieter than mine. There's no bickering going on." Namine laughed at that. "Okay, guys! And girls too!" Joe said loudly, trying to capture everyones attention. "We have another speaker downstairs. We will be back in here afterwards, so you can leave your stuff here if you want to. The door will be locked." A couple people nodded. "Alright then. Let's go." Out of no where, Demyx linked arms with me. "Let's sit next to each other!" I snaked my arm out of his. He pouted at me. I shook my head. "Fine." He shrugged and linked his hands behind his head as we walked down the stairs together to, what I now call, the Dungeon. (x) (X) (x) The speaker took a total of 15 minutes to explain the rules of the dorms. Don't be later than 11:00 p.m. or else you'll be locked out of the dorm and then the Rooming Advisers will be super mad at you and they will have to turn you into the annoying leader guy. Dorm check is at 11:30. That's when you need to be in your dorms with the lights out. Blah blah blah. I got that when the annoying guy told us about it. But, finally, we were allowed to go to dinner. It was almost six o'clock and we were just now allowed to go eat. And they didn't even serve us lunch! Bull shit! I was starving and I just wanted to find Sora. I wanted some normalcy. Don't think I was going to get that. "Hey, Roxy!" Nope, not at all. I stopped in my tracks towards the dining hall and turned. "Roxas, Axel! My name is Roxas!" I saw that Sora was behind Axel, smiling, but seeming slightly out of breath. "I'm so glad we found you!" Sora said gleefully as he reached me. We continued walking until we reached the end of the line. Line? I looked in front of me to see a huge line of other kids waiting outside the dining hall. "What the -?" "So, Roxas!" Sora grabbed my attention. "How do you like your group? What's your product?" "Ah, well..." I scratched the back of my head and looked behind Sora to see Axel and Demyx engaged in conversation. They seemed kind of secretive about it. "Demyx is in my group, which got a little annoying," I whispered, just to make sure Demyx didn't hear me. "And we're doing cell phones. I have no idea what else. Everyone seems really nice. Oh yeah, and there's this one girl in my group that already started hitting on me." Sora chuckled. "And, gah! I hate it when people find out we're twins and they say stupid things like 'Oh! I hope Roxas's brother is as cute as he is!' Ahh! I hate it!" Sora chuckled again. "Well, aren't you used to that by now? Anyways, we all know I'm the cuter one!" I punched Sora, lightly, in the arm. "Don't be a jerk! But yeah, I should be used to it, and I am, but that doesn't mean it can't get on my nerves!" Sora shook his head and pushed me forward, since the line had moved up. "Get over it. But I'm doing skateboards! It's awesome!" "Are you in the same group as Axel?" "Unfortunately, we're not, Roxy." Axel piped in. "ROXAS! GET MY NAME RIGHT!" I shouted at him. He just put his hands on his hips and laughed. "You know you're adorable when your flustered." To hide my face, I quickly turned to my left and looked at the ground, clenching my fists. Sora laughed nervously, not knowing what to say. Demyx threw his arms over both Sora's and my shoulders. "We are going to have so much fun together this week! Yay!" "Demyx, you know you're an idiot right?" I shot back at him. He took his arm off me, but only to put it around Sora. "You're brother loves me! Don't you, Sora?" "Sora, don't answer that. And if I find out that you've done anything to my brother while you are sharing a room, I will kill you." I promised. "Oooh! Demy! You'd better listen to him! I think Roxy here would really do it!" Axel said sarcastically, standing directly behind Sora. "What about you Roxas? What if I try to do something to you in the night? Think you can take care of yourself?" "Wanna try me?" I said hotly. Demyx and Axel laughed, while Sora just stared wide eyed at me. "H-hey, look. The lines moved way up while we were talking, not arguing, so lets move up." Demyx let go of my brother, thank God, and we came closer to the stairs. You get up the stairs through some doors and the line looks like it's going downstairs. This place is fucked up. After we got inside, grabbed some food and a table. We, including Axel and Demyx (to my misfortune), sat together, while we picked at the uncooked chicken. "This is fucking ridiculous." I mumbled. "Oh, tell me brother. What is oh-so-fucking-ridiculous?" Sora asked, rolling his eyes. "They don't give us lunch and then the food they try to give us isn't cooked! I didn't even realize it wasn't fully cooked until I got to the middle! Screw this! I'm going back to my room." Angrily I picked up my tray and put it on the moving line. I walked out of the dining hall. Stupid Axel. Stupid Demyx. Damnit, Sora! You didn't have to mock me in front of those bastards! I was glad to know that we were allowed to walk around the campus the rest of the night until we had to be in the dorms at 11. I pulled out my ipod and stuck the headphones in my ears. Again, playing it on the first song that came up, and full blast. I sauntered my way around the dining hall into the Quad[trapaligic] (the grassy area) on the sidewalk up to the dorms. More stairs and a right turn, walk straight avoid some people, and I've made it to the front of the dorm rooms. There seemed to be so many steps here for it being such a small campus (which it is). But I finally made it up my room. Without thinking or caring, I threw myself onto the unmade bottom bunk. I thought about making my own bed. I thought about finishing unpacking. I thought about taking a shower, and many other things, but eventually, my eyes just drifted close. (x) (X) (x) "Roxas." I felt something shaking my shoulder and it was getting annoying. I, also, smelled some minty fresh breath. Well at least it didn't smell. "Roxas!" The shaking continued. I swatted my hand at whatever was shaking me. "Sora, shut up." I mumbled. Well, at least I thought I said that, I wasn't thinking. Now I was being gripped by two hands and both my shoulders were now being shaken. "Sora! Stop it!" "Roxas! You need to wake up!" I turned myself out of their grip and onto my side, with my back facing the annoyance. "ROXY!" "What?!" I shouted, sitting up, way too fast, and turning to whatever just shouted in my ear. I hit my head off the top bunk. "Owe..." I rubbed my head, meanwhile the person that woke me laughed. "You alright?" I turned to see Axel (what a surprise!) leaning over me. I nodded, but kept my hands on my forehead. "What time is it?" I groaned out. "8:30. You've been up here for over 2 hours." I just then realized I still had a headphone that was no longer playing anything in my ear, which I pulled out. Finding my ipod and rolling up the headphones around it, I swung my legs to the side of the bed, making Axel take a step away from me. I rubbed my face. "Where's Sora?" "I'm not sure. I think he's still outside. We were playing soccer, but I didn't see the light on in the dorm, and I just wanted to make sure you were alright. Well, Sora wanted to come up here, but I said I'd do it." "Right, okay." I said, getting off the bed. "Sorry I fell asleep on your bed." "Hey, Roxas." "Yeah, Axel?" I ambled over to my bag and pulled out a towel, along with my shampoo and body wash. "Do you really hate me?" I shook my head. "No, I haven't known you long enough to hate you." I turned to look at Axel. "Alright. Roxas, are you sure you're okay? You look pale, but a little flushed." I batted Axel's hand away from my forehead. "I'm fine. And why is it that you change completely whenever it's just the two of us? Are you really that much of a prick, that as soon as Demyx comes around you have to change your personality?" "Well, I..." "Because right now, I can tolerate you, but as soon as... whatever." Axel stuck a hand at the back of his head, playing with the large firey spikes there. "Roxas... I... I... I can't really explain it, Roxas... It's just." He scratched his head. "I dunno." "Spit it out, Axel. You have a split personality disorder, or something?" "No, Roxas, I just... I just wanted you to like me, and you know..." Axel stopped looking at me and stared at the floor. "You know, I want to be friends, but I can't usually control how I feel or express it, and whatever." I relaxed my tense position. "That's it?" I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Axel, you are one crazy character." I scoffed. He looked up at me with hope. I gave him a half smile, and strolled past him. I left him in the room, staring after me as I walked a little down the hall to the bathroom to take a shower. Axel sure was one crazy character, alright. And there was just something about him. When we talk like we were, it gives me this feeling that there's more to him. And possibly. More to us. I found that last thought very awkward, and quickly brushed it off. Turning on the shower, I hurriedly washed my hair and body. I hate public showers like this. It's really annoying. Maybe tomorrow I'll get to know him better and then he won't seem as annoying to me. I probably just need some sleep,. I thought to myself. Yeah, that's probably it.I finished up my shower and tied my towel around my hips. I grabbed my belongings and headed back to my room which, thankfully, wasn't but a few doors from the bathroom. When I got back to the room, Axel was already laying in his bed, blankets covering him, regardless of the heat, reading a book. "Whatcha reading?" I asked him as I closed the door behind me. "Hm? Oh, the 6th Harry Potter book. The next one comes out soon and Demyx is gonna kill me if I don't finish this one before I get the 7th one." He said, not even looking up. I took that time to stealthily pull my boxers up underneath my towel and unwrap the towel. I put on my pajama pants and grabbed my sheets. I should have done that earlier. This is going to be difficult. After struggling for almost 10 minutes, and quite a few laughs from Axel, I finally my bed made. I crawled under my blanket. Ahhh, so comfortable. "Hey Axel, do you mind hitting the light soon?" "Not at all, Roxy." I was about to protest, but his book closed and the light went out. I didn't feel the need to agrue. "Thanks, Axel." I said the best I could without falling asleep. "Good night Roxas." "Hm, night, Axel." Finally, silence. I didn't even think I'd be this tired after that nap, but I was still dead tired. And hungry. "Oh, Roxas!" "Hm?" Axel seemed to hesitate for a moment before saying, "Oh, nevemind. It's nothing. I was going to ask you about where you live and your life, but your too tired. So we'll talk tomorrow." I sighed. "What do you wanna know? Quickly, I would like to get a little bit of sleep tonight." Unwillingly, I opened my eyes. "Well..." I knew I wasn't going to get any sleep. Good thing I had that nap. adjkfghliu*(&^*%&%47tfuTFYTFUY%#%^$EDJA/N:I need to make these chapters better, they are starting to piss me off. D: Okay, terms. 1) Quadtrapeligic: The large grassy area in the middle of the campus (in the first chapter where workers were walking to point you in the direction of the lounge area). 2) The Dungeon: (really called D001, why I don't know) Is called this because this is where you get trapped for hours listening to people (some fun speakers, mostly boring ones) would talk to you about whatever it was they wanted to talk about. 3)The Cell: where company meeting are held, the rooms are scary white. I can't think of anything else at the moment, too tired. It's four in the morning and I'm beat. but if I remember anything else, I will stick it at the top of the next chapter. I know I know, the 7th Harry Potter already came out, but I'm writing this a lot like what my experience was like and my best friend (who likes to shoot me in the throat if I don't update my chapters) wanted to kill me because I haven't finished the 6th book and the 7th one was coming out the weekend we got back from PFEW (which we now call 'business camp'.) And other stuff so yeah. I'll have the next chapter up as soon as I can. Tootles!

Title: Company Secrets Author: barbwirexkiss Pairings: Axel x Roxas Rating: T for language. Summary: Roxas is forced by his twin, Sora, to go to business camp with him. After getting separated from Sora, the only reason he was there, and being put in the same dorm as a lunatic, Roxas is pretty much ready to go home. Disclaimer: Don't own. Author's Note:For starters, I need to explain this a little bit so it's not too confusing. A couple weeks ago I went to this PFEW week thing at this college. Like said in the fic, it's like a business camp. You are placed in a group of 17 or 18 kids that are either going into their junior or senior year. You live in the college dorms and have a strict schedule of preparing your product (mine was cell phones) and whatnot. Basically what you do is: you're given a product, you have to name it, do the finances, the advertising and promoting for it. That was pretty much it. There were a lot of speakers and crazy bitch people that liked to yell at you if you were even 30 seconds late for something. But anyways. It's kind of confusing to explain, but this won't have a lot to do with the business stuff (because none of that made sense to me) so it'll just have to do with free time, and different people and experiences that happened. To sum it up, it's about Roxas going to college with his twin brother, Sora, getting separated from him, being stuck with Axel, and trying to survive the week of being a smart mouth, and anti-social. XD Disclaimer: I do not own Kingdom Hearts at all (other than I bought the games and love them XD ). Company Secrets
Chapter I: Part I: Arrivalskdjhfiuy8&^*&^iuhweiuhodi7ttfyteuYTDFYGFYITDYT*) Okay. Somehow, I ended up at some place called PFEW. Whatever that is. I don't even know what it stands for, but that's alright. All I know is that this is going to look good on a college application. And I know that it's one week of a business simulation. Basically, you get grouped and are told to make and sell a product. Sounds easy right? Not. So, here I was at some random college, with a whole shit load of people I didn't know. Well, other than my twin brother at least. And going to make a product. Right... Anyways, I am starting to confuse myself, so I'm just going to continue. My brother, Sora, had decided to drag me to this random place, to some city I had never heard of before, to make a business from some random program. "Hey, Roxas!" Sora said as he ran back to me. "We have to be registered now! We could miss the dead line!" That was one thing that always surprised me when it came to my brother: He was the most happy-go-lucky person ever, but had this thing for always being on time, if not early. In this case, we were almost two hours early. I won't ever understand it. "Okay, okay. I'm coming." I said as I lagged behind. It was nine in the morning. I'm not a morning person. I can't be running around worry about being on time at nine in the morning. Just impossible for me. But Sora... Sora always had energy. It was pretty amazing. Not. He could just really annoying, really quickly in the morning. But, regardless, I still love my brother, and he does always forgive me after giving him a nice black and blue eye for being too obnoxious in the morning. Anyways, we walked across campus, each of us with just our backpacks, and asked a worker about registration. "Right at this table behind me. Give these guys your name and you'll have your room." The guy, who looked to be just, or not even, out of high school yet, said. We walked past him. Sora bounced up to the tables. "Sora and Roxas Machin!" He said happily. "Machin... Machin..." The guy, his name tag read Remy, said. "Ah ha! Oh..." He said and flipped through the pages again. Slowly, he looked up at us. This isn't good, I thought to myself. "You guys wanted a room together, didn't you?" Sora and I nodded. "Okay... Well, it seems there's been a bit of a mix up. You aren't in the same room..." My jaw dropped. Not with Sora? If I'm not with Sora then I'm going to go nuts! I'm not going to know anyone! I'm terrible at meeting new people! "Is that okay with you guys? I'm not sure how this happened, but I can go find an adviser..." "No no! This is fine!" Sora nudged me with his elbow. I looked at him and he smiled at me. "Don't worry about it. Really!" Remy smiled slightly and nodded. "Okay, Sora... You'll be in room 312. Roxas, your room is 229. Here are your keys and off you go!" "Thank you!" Sora said as he took his key. I nodded and took mine. "By the way, as soon you have taken your stuff up to your room, you are to go to Macarthur Lounge, okay? Just down to the large grass area and ask one of the workers there and they will give you directions, okay?" "Alright!" Sora and I went back to the car, where our mother and father were standing waiting for us. "What room you two boys in?" Our mother asked, enthusiastically. "Sora and I got separated somehow. We're even on different floors." I said reluctantly, trying to plead with her, using my eyes. I so didn't wanna be here. "Well, then, that's alright!" She is excited like my brother. My dad is probably thinking 'I have to drive 4 more hours to get home... Can we leave yet?' Can you tell which one of us takes after the other? "Jean, help the boys with their suitcases." So, grudgingly, I hauled my suitcase up two large flights of stairs, while Sora and our dad took his stuff to the third floor. My mother, Naomi, walked with me to my room. "Roxas, hunny?" "Yeah, Mom?" "You okay?" "Yeah, Mom." Out of the corner of my eye I saw her hand go up to her mouth. "Are you sure dear?" I sighed, knowing that if I didn't tell her the truth then she would be at this until she was forced to leave. But that wouldn't stop her, she'd keep calling me as well. "I don't even want to be here. The only reasons I'm here are because of A) Sora, and B) something that'll look good on a college application. Those are the real reasons. And now I really don't want to be here if I'm not even rooming with Sora! Who knows if I'll get to see him at all the rest of the week?" She smiled and we stopped in front of my dorm room. "Everything will be okay." She took the key from my hand, and unlocked the door. "You'll see him and you'll make new friends, and you'll be happy you came and did this, and you'll have the experience, and..." "Okay, Mom, I get it. I'll try to have fun." She opened the door and we stepped in. The room was fairly big, definitely not small. To my left, along the wall was a closet, a dresser vanity, another closet, and a desk. Along the right wall was a twin size bunk bed, a window and another desk. In between the two desks in the back wall was another window. "Look! Your roommate has already been here!" She pointed underneath the window between the bed and the desk, and sure enough, there was a large black suitcase and a backpack. I saw that his pillows were already on the bottom bunk. Awesome! That was the one thing I did want: top bunk. "Well, lets set your stuff down, and head up to your brothers room." She handed the key back to me after my stuff was laid near the closest away from the door. "Okay." I closed and locked the door, and my mom and I walked up the steps, only to meet my brother and father at the top. "Let us go to the lounge area!" Sora said in a mock 'millionaire' voice. He straightened himself up and pretended to be holding a monocle up to his eye. I laughed. I knew what he was doing; trying to make me feel better. I know, this is all completely random, but I'm getting there. But just as a side note, my brother loves to make people laugh, and he's really good at it. We headed towards the building, whatever it was called, using the directions the workers gave us. We also followed signs telling us where to go for registration. It was going to take about 25 minutes, and while we were doing that, our parents were to go follow some man to have a talk about what the week was like, or so said the balding man with the really creepy large smile. We went through a bunch of crap, got some stuff needed for the week, a tee-shirt, got our pictures taken for our ID cards, and blah blah blah. Not important. What was important is what happened while we were waiting around for our parents and the rest of the people to get here to start the campus tour. While Sora and I were leaning against the window wall, I saw someone. I didn't know this someone, but he just kind of stood out. He had flaming red spikey hair, and brilliant green eyes, and underneath those eyes were two downward pointing triangles. He was really tall. I couldn't believe that he was in the age group of 15 to 18. He had this huge goofy grin on his face. He was laughing with another tall kid. The other kid wasn't nearly as tall as the other, but taller than me. He had a mohawk mullet type thing. All I can say about that kid is that he's lucky he can pull off an awkward looking hair due as that. "Hey hey, Rox. That blond guy is my roommate! Oh what was his name..." Sora paused in thinking then shouted, "Oh yeah! Demyx!" Both guys looked over at us. I hung my head, somewhat embarrassed that my brother would just shout someones name like that. "Yeah?" "Hey!" my brother said cheerfully. I was ready to do something quite violent to myself at this point in time. "Hey Sora!" He said, waving his hand. Demyx ran over to us while the other guy slowly made his way over to us. "Demyx, I'd like you to meet my twin brother, Roxas. Roxas, this is Demyx!" Sora jumped up and down. He needs to stop eating sugar, I thought. I shook Demyx's hand. He smiled at me, but it faded as he saw my blank expression. I mean, what can I say, I'm not very good with expressing myself. "Is he okay? I mean, is he going to kill everyone?" Maybe just myself. "Naw, he's just not a morning person and he's all cranky because there was a mix up and now we aren't rooming together." "Awe, that's okay, Roxy! You'll make new friends!" I glared at Demyx. "My name is Roxas, not Roxy." "Oh so your name is Roxy. Very suiting for a pretty boy like yourself." said a cocky voice I had never heard before. But there in front of me was the tall kid with red hair, giving my a sly smirk. "Ah ha. That was hilarious. Let me tell you how funny I found that." I said as I remained expressionless. The red haired guy stared back at me with amusement in his eyes. After a few moments of uncomfortable silence, the red guy started to laugh. "You're great kid! The name's Axel, got it memorized?" He stuck out his hand. I shook it but only for a second to be polite. "So, what room you in, Roxy?" "It's ROXAS! And why should I tell you?!" "229." "SORA! YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO TELL HIM!" I shouted at my brother, who coward back slightly. "No way! Looks like we're rooming, Roxy!" I froze. Oh... Shit. (x) (X) (x) So after having a wonderful (no sarcasm, I promise. No really, I wanted to kill myself) time with Demyx and Axel, and after the tour of the campus and saying goodbye's, we were allowed to roam around for a little before we had a meeting. Finally getting a chance to seperate myself from the other three, I was able to run back to the dorm. I locked the door and sat on the bottom bunk. I sighed loudly and found a small escape. My Ipod. I put the headphones in my ears and played whatever song was first on full blast. If someone was going to come into the room I didn't want to hear them do so. I began to unpack my stuff and put them in to the right hand drawers of the built in vanity dresser. I hung up my suit (we were required to bring a nice outfit for some presentation we have to give at the end of the week), and anything else that needed hung up. I was setting up my toiletries when I was suddenly grabbed by the shoulder. Startled, I shouted then turned. In the process, one of my headphones was ripped out of my ear. Axel. Maybe I did want to hear if someone was going to come into the room. "Jesus, man! You gave me a fucking heartattack!" I rubbed my hands over my face and through my hair, trying to calm my heart a little. "Sorry! You didn't hear me whenever I shouted though!" He looked at me from head to toe. And while he was doing that to me, I decided to do it to him too. He was wearing black, tight pants, and a black wife beater with a black zip up over it. Lots of black. Looks good with the red hair though... wait... I thought. I stopped my train of thought as I was brought back down my Axel speaking to me in a loud voice. "You don't have to talk so damn loud! I'm not deaf!" I shouted at him. "Sure seems like you are!" Axel sighed and rolled his eyes. "Listen, your brother sent me up here to get you for the meeting and I also wanted to... you know." "What?" "I wanted apologize. You seem pretty pissed. And you ran off without telling anyone where you were. We were all worried about you. And I felt like it was my fault..." I relaxed a little from my tense position. He was... apologizing? He was just joking around, and I knew that. I'm just being a prick because my brother had to wake me up at 4 in the morning. "No no, it's alright." "Really? Awesome then! Lets go to the place, my little Roxy." Wow, was that a change in moods! He started to walk away and started to follow but then stopped. "Now, if you really wanna piss me off, you can keep calling me that. But trust me, I've given even my happy-go-fucking-lucky brother a black eye or two for being too annoying. Don't toy with me." I warned. "Oh ho ho! Someone's wearing their ovaries on the outside today!" Axel said, turning to give me a smile and a wink. He has no idea how pissed off I was. He could probably (I hope he could) see the anger forming itself around me. Axel's eyes were wide, and kind of frightened. "I kid! I kid! Please don't kill me!" "You're lucky I don't have enough energy to do that." I stuck my headphones back in my ears and walked through the open door. I thought Axel said something else, but I didn't hear, fortunately. I, honestly, didn't want to be mean to him, seeings how I going to be living with this kid for the next week, but all he did was say stuff that pissed me off. Thinking back on that, I stopped in the hallway, turned off my Ipod, and waited. "Axel, you coming?!" I shouted down the hall. "Huh? Oh, yeah! Just a second!" I heard shout back from at the end of the hall. Then I saw him run after me. I guess he was actually running. He must of thought I was further away, because he just about ran into me. "Oh! I didn't think you were going to wait for me." He said, scratching the back of his head. I shrugged my shoulders, but gave him a small smile. He gave me a huge smile. His entire face seemed to brighten up. That just made me smile more. I turned and continued walking. Axel slung his arm around my shoulders. I shot a glare up at him, which he didn't see. "Yay! I'm glad we're friends now Roxy! This week is going to be great!" He smiled. "No, it won't be great if you keep calling me 'Roxy'," I commented. "But you're so pretty. It'd be a crime if I didn't call you that!" I hung my head. I stopped right atop the stairs. "I'm not pretty. And if you think I'm pretty, then you must think my brother is pretty. Anyways, that's besides the point. I'm not pretty, or a pretty boy. So therefore, the name Roxy doesn't suit me in the slightest." I walked past a dumbstruck Axel and headed down the first flight of stairs. "But you are pretty!" He shouted after me as I head him bound down the steps after me. "No." "Awe! But Roxy--!" "Axel! Don't call me that." I said sternly. I heard Axel make a hmpf-ing noise, and cross his arms. "But the name Roxas doesn't suit you at all! No matter what you have to say!" "Axel, you've known me for an hour. How is it that you suddenly know me better than I know myself?" I stated as I stopped at the bottom of the steps, getting ready to open the door to go outside, and looked back up at Axel. He stopped in the middle of the stairs and began to think. A hand up to the chin, the eyes up to the ceiling; I couldn't tell if he was just joking, or if this is how he really thought about things. He "Ah ha"-ed and pointed at me with a large grin on his face. "Because I'm awesome at judging people... er... in a good way!" He said skepitcally. "Right." Pushing open the door, I felt the warm afternoon sunlight hit me. And right then, when everything seemed peaceful, and calm... I knew everything really was going to suck. This was going to be one hell of a week. zfkghadr8g978JYGOU&R*^RFuygfiw7438976*&%6Author's note: Alright, this might be confusing, but I hope things will clear up in later chapters if it is too confusing. Ask me questions if you need to! Please tell me if this was too confusing or something. I did it in two separate days. But I wanted to get it up here. But yeah, tell me if there are mistakes and if it's too confusing. I'll have the next chapter up soon, and hopefully that'll help! Tootles! mood: happy music: For a girl - The Fratellis |

They'll be standing there, watching.](x) (X) (x) "You lied to me?" I froze as I heard Ruki's voice come from behind me. This was the point in the day where he usually jumped on my back and screamed good morning in my ear. Him coming up to me and saying that in the tone of voice he did wasn't something I was expecting. Even though I should have been. I didn't turn around as I sighed and hung my head. It was Saturday. And something big was supposed to happen tonight. Something that didn't include Ruki and me breaking up. "Yeah. I did." It came out as a whisper. "Well, I'm glad you can admit it." Ruki said angrily as well as sarcastically. "What did you lie about?" I wanted to cry. I wanted to scream. I wanted to do something other than just be blank. I had cried all night. Akiko didn't do anything. She just sat there and watched me cry. She told me what happened is my fault, and there was nothing I could do about it other than face the truth. "I can't say it here." "REITA!" Ruki snarled at me. I shuddered. I slowly turned so that Ruki could see my face. The anger slightly slipped off his face, but most of it still remained. Slowly, I shook my head. "I can't say it here." I said, looking him in the eye, even though that was extremelly hard to do. This time I wasn't going to lie, even though I just wished I hadn't opened my mouth. Mr. Nakamura came home the day before. He didn't even acknowledge me or Akiko in the slightest. Which is somewhat understandable, since he hadn't seen his wife in a very long time. But he did glare at me whenever I said good evening to him from the couch. "Then we're skipping. You have to explain this." His voice was a little calmer than before. He grabbed my arm and had to drag me somewhere. I didn't even know where we were going. Eventually he let go of my arm and I had to walk by myself. I could barely find enough energy to do that. I felt so totally drained from everything from throwing up to crying and not sleeping all night. I looked up to see that Ruki had stopped in front of the park that we always meet at. Ruki took his usual swing while I still stood at the entrance. "Reita." He said tonelessly. I made my way over to the swing next to Ruki. Other than sitting in the swing, I sat on the mulch beneath the swing. Ruki looked down at me, in more ways than one. "Explain." he said. "My mom never killed anyone. To be honest, I never spoke with my parents at all. Akiko and I are adopted. But, we weren't lying about the 'mother' we have keeping close ties on Akiko. My adoptive parents did beat us. Mostly me because I would never let them touch Akiko. But whenever I was about 12, I was dating someone older than me. And this guy beat me. A lot. More than my parents did. I didn't kill him. I came close though. How it ended me saying that I killed him was beyond me. My parents said that I did, even though they watched him get up and walk out of the house." I sighed then continued my monotone speech. "But one day, I planned to get revenge for all the times that he beat and raped me. So one day, right when he was about to punch me..." I trailed off, trying to remember. "Everything really is a blur. But somehow I ended up cutting of the better part of his nose and slashing his face pretty good." Ruki's hands went up to his mouth. I knew he wanted to run away. That's when I started crying. "I was kicked out of the house. Which is why I switch from foster parent to foster parent. Akiko might mention something about court. What she means by 'court' is when they took me to a judge and had me legally kicked out. In court I tried to fight back and get Akiko out of there as well. I tried to tell them about the beatings they were giving us. Akiko wasn't speaking at the time. There's was too much stress. So she just didn't talk. She was almost lifeless." I sobbed, remembering how hard I tried to get her to snap out of it. I hugged my knees and put my head on my knees even though that hurt my head more. "The judge didn't believe so I tried to blame my 'mother' about what happened to the kid. He didn't buy that either. The judge gave my adoptive parents right to disown me. I'm not allowed to speak to them, and legally, I'm not allowed to speak to Akiko either. But Akiko still always finds me. I never know when she is just going to suddenly show up." Ruki was silent. I looked up finally, but not at him. I looked at the road in front of me. Ruki shifted. I sobbed as I watched Ruki's legs in front of me, getting further and further away. He stopped as he reached the entrance to the playground. "-cough- Ru....ki...." I said as best I could through my sobs. I laid my head back on my knees, not bearing to watch Ruki really walk away from me as so many others had. Ruki is the best thing in my life, I told myself. How could I fuck this up."Reita," Ruki said. I could tell he was crying as well. I wondered if he believed me. I ran my nose along my sleeve. "You're the best thing that ever happened to me Ruki!" I sobbed. I couldn't breathe, but I had to tell Ruki. "I love you! I don't know what to do without you, anymore! I'm not that person anymore! I'm trying so hard to look forward and not look in the past so much. I'm so sorry! Ruki, I love you!" I sobbed harder than I have before. Losing Ruki would be the worst thing ever. But I couldn't blame him if he wasn't even there to listen to me anymore. I had lied to him, and for that he couldn't trust me anymore. There's no way he could. And I understood that. I knew that he could completely walk out of my life. At that moment, I knew everything could end. I sobbed so hard that I couldn't breathe and when I tried to all I could do was cough. It hurt my chest to do that, it also hurt my chest to know that he had walked away from me. I knew I shouldn't have lied in the first place. But I'm a coward, always have been, always will be. I've made my own life hell, so I take it out on others. "I'm such a disgusting person." I said quietly to myself. "Only when you lie." Ruki's voice was close to me. His voice was blank of emotion. I looked up to see him kneeing in front of me. He was playing with the mulch in front of him. He wasn't looking at me. He had a small smile on his face. It was sad. More tears streamed down my face by looking at how sad I had made him. I wanted to hurt myself so badly for making him feel this way. I couldn't look at him anymore, it made my heart twist. I put my head down again. "I'm so sorry, Ruki. You have to believe me this time. I promise. This is the truth. I'm sorry I lied." I hiccuped. "I'm sorry. I'm so sor -" I was cut off when I felt his head lay ontop of mine. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders. "Reita. Right now, I'm so disappointed." I felt my heart sink into my stomach. I wanted to vomit. "I'm upset that you felt like you couldn't tell me that in the first place. And to be completely honest; I'm pretty pissed off." "You have every right to be." I said sniffling. "And it might take me a while to honestly and truly forgive you. But there is something I can tell you for sure." We were silent. He was waiting for me to speak. I swallowed and spoke. "And what's that?" He chuckled a little and I could feel his smile. "That I love you too." And with those words, I died. The old me, melted away. I could almost feel it. Cliche, I know. But it's true. I cried, and Ruki cried along with me. I let go of my legs and hugged Ruki. He rubbed my back and cried. I sobbed and got snot all over his shirt. When we finished crying my only thought was I need to NOT cry so much. Ruki smiled at me, and I gave him a small smile back. "Now." Ruki said, his smile growing. "About tonight." (x) (X) (x) Right. Okay. This was awesome. Yeah. Great. Wonderful. ....... Or NOT. I was on the verge of a panic attack when Ruki came up behind me and placed a hand on my shoulder. He was still mad, so there was minimal amount of contact between us. "Come on. Everything is going to be okay." I felt Uruha come up to my other side. "Jeez, man. You're so pale. Are you gonna pass out?" I forced myself to nod my head just a little. Uruha patted me hard on the back which basically knocked my over. "URUHA! Be careful! We can't do this without him!" Ruki said, while him and Uruha grabbed me and kept me up-right. "Well, he can't go on stage if he's like this!" That's right kids. Tonight was the big night. Our first show. And I was about to pass out and be completely lost to the world. The guys were all talking around me, trying to figure out what to do. I knew Kai was nervous like me, just not as bad. Aoi didn't care. He was as laid back about this as he is everything else. Uruha was excited and so was Ruki. Then there was me. Oh. Shit. "Where's Akiko?" Uruha asked. "Maybe she'll know what to do." I leaned on Uruha for support. Akiko was right. I thought. I am freezing up. Damn. So much for being a braver person, I thought cruelly to myself. I heard Ruki start just randomly screaming for Akiko. I could see him, in my mind, running around screaming Akiko's name until he, literally, ran into her. "Come on, Rei-kun. It'll be fun. You did awesome at practice." Uruha said, trying to make me feel better. "Just think of it as practice, but if you mess up, the band will beat you up." I felt my legs begin to give. This was a lot worse than I thought. I didn't think I'd be this nervous. Well, I knew I would be nervous but not like this! I can't even stand on my own! I - SMACK"OWE! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!?" Akiko glared at me after hitting me on the head. "You can't freeze up every time! Get over it, and get out there!" Some guy came up to us and said, "5 minutes. Everything okay guys?" "Yup!" Ruki said with a smile. I didn't think Ruki really believed what he said. I shook out a shiver I had crawling slowly up my back. Uruha came up to me laying a hand on my shoulder. He looked serious, something I don't see often. You know, I don't think I've ever seen Uruha serious. "Reita-kun," he said lowly. "You can do this. Do it for Ruki-kun." he held out his hand as if to give me something. I held out my palm for him. He dropped something into my hand and walked to get his guitar. I looked down to see a red guitar pick that had silver writing that said "Lets do this!" in small cursive writing. Staring at the pick a little longer I realized that I could. I was gonna fucking do it. Damnit. I was still nervous as hell. But I wasn't going to back down. "Okay, guys," the random guy told us. "Go out there and break a leg!" He hesitated, "Not literally." Aoi and Uruha were already standing next to the entrance to the stage with Ruki who had been there for a while. "Come on, Reita-san!" Kai said as he walked past me to stand next to Uruha. I let out a deep breath and grabbed my bass that was sitting next to me. ////Oh, fuck. This is it.//// (x) (X) (x) Sweating, panting, and shaking, we exited the stage with victory on us. Awkward way of putting it, but that's what it felt like. A victory. We were great, the crowd cheered, moshed, and screamed for more. None of us could have been happier. Even after we were backstage, Ruki hugged me and told me I did great for being so fucking nervous. ///Yeah, thanks Ruki.//// I thought sarcastically to myself. I found a wall to rest against and slid down it so I could sit. A minute later, Aoi sat down next to me. He smiled and said, "Good job, Reita." I nodded, to thirsty to say anything. When Aoi's smile faded and he got up and left without saying another word to me, I got the feeling that everyone really hated me. That feeling should have dawned on me sooner. I don't know why it didn't. Now feeling pathetic and unwanted, I went to go find Akiko, who I know was in the crowd somewhere. I didn't say anything to any of the guys as I left the backstage area and headed to the back wall of the pit. I was looking for Akiko when all of the sudden something heavy had heaved itself onto me and began to strangle me. Not really. It was just Akiko jumping on me and hugging me screaming "You were great! That was so awesome!" in my ear. Having been used to Ruki jumping on me at random, I had grabbed hold on her legs. She loosened her hold on my neck and smiled at me. I gave her a feeble smile back, and let go of her legs. She slid herself off of me, but didn't let go of my neck. "Everything's fucked up, isn't it, Reita?" She asked me. I barely heard her over the music of the next band that played. I nodded, though, still understanding what she said. The smile melted off of her face and she let go of my neck. She grabbed my hand, and led me out the doors. As soon as I felt the fresh air around me, I looked around to see a couple of other people standing outside, smoking. Dragging Akiko with me, I went over and asked for a cigarette. It's a nasty habit I have that when I get anxious, I need a cigarette. Akiko glared at me as the guy lit the cigarette. With a quick thanks, Akiko and I walked over to the other corner of the building, where it was dark, and there wasn't anyone else. I blew smoke out of my mouth away from Akiko and said, "I told Ruki everything. I told him what really happened." Akiko stared at me in disbelief as I took a long drag from the fag. "Everything?" "Everything." I blew the smoke out of my nose this time; wanting to feel the slight tingle. "We skipped school and went to the park. I told him because he wanted to know. He got mad. He reminded me about tonight then left. He's super mad at me, but he said he'd get over it eventually. He'll be even madder at me later. He didn't want anything to fuck up tonight's performance. I know him; he won't talk to me for a couple of days then when we do talk, he will be quiet around me and not say much, then say something that'll make us both sad and then we will fight. That's probably how it'll go." "So he really is mad?" "Yeah." We were silent for a little bit then she said, "How are you taking the fact that he knows?" I hesitated. "Horribly. I'm probably taking this worse than he is. I really hate knowing he knows." She nodded, but didn't say anything. "I just wanted to tell you that, so that you knew." I said as I stomped out my finished cigarette on the gravel. "Okay." Without saying anything else, we walked back inside. Shoulder to shoulder, we stood next to each other and didn't say anything. We just watched the band and the people jump around. While doing that, I began to think about what really could happen for Ruki and myself for the first time that day. Right now, what was Ruki's feeling for me? Does he think I'm still a violent person? Does he think I'm going to hurt him? Is he going to hurt me? Leave me? I don't know what I'd do without Ruki. It's been almost 4 months now, and somehow he's made me completely dependent on him. When Ruki's sad, I'm sad. When he's mad, I'm mad. When he's happy, you can't help but be happy along side him. "Rei." Akiko's voice was soft, but I could still hear it from our closeness. "Yeah?" "I'm leaving tomorrow." I paused, letting it sink it. "Okay." We both wanted to fight her leaving. Neither one of us wanted to be apart from the other again. We were tired of the sneaking around, but there wasn't anything we could have done about it. This was how things were with us. We always had to get spilt apart. "I'll be here when you need me." I said to her, this time turning my face towards her. I could tell she was going to cry. I gave her a small smile, which she returned. No words were exchanged, but Akiko pushed herself off the wall we were leaning on and went outside. I quickly found Kai, who was the first one I saw, and told him that Akiko and I were going home. That we'd see him later. After I got outside, we walked home, Akiko quietly crying beside me as we walked, I, myself, smoking another cigarette I got from another guy. I put my arm around her to try and comfort her. It might have looked like we were a couple, but really we were just a couple of messed up siblings. (x) (X) (x) When we got to the house, we said our goodnights, and went to bed. I didn't change before laying myself on the couch. I didn't allow myself to think anymore. I just couldn't do it anymore. (x) (X) (x) "Come back soon, okay?" I said to her as she was about to board the train back to hell. "I will, and Reita..." "I won't do anything stupid. I promise." I said with a sigh. "Don't you come to the house. I swear Rei... I'll be the first to get to you." "Aki-" "I know you. You'll find a way to do something reckless and that'll just cause problems. And you know what? You really need to start getting Ruki to talk to again. If you need to have that fight, then do it, just as long as it'll get you back together. I warned you not to fuck things up with Ruki." I hung my head in defeat. Akiko was right. I needed to think about Ruki and I. I didn't let myself think about it last night, but still ended up not getting any sleep. But right now, at this very moment, I worried about Akiko. There wasn't anyway I couldn't have thought about her well being. With my eyes still to the ground, I said, "Well, you have everyones number. Make sure to give them all a call, and say sorry or whatever that they couldn't see you off." I sighed. "I'll try and explain it as well to them, but you know, they are all pretty stubborn." Akiko giggled, "That's for sure. Especially that Ruki of yours." I looked at her through my bangs to see her looking sadly at me. I straightened myself up. "Nee-san..." She kind of twitched when I said that. I heard her take in a deep breath. "Right," she said shakily. "I'd better get on the train, I want a good seat." We hugged, not knowing when we'd see each again. Or if we would. Tightening my grip on her I whispered, "I love you Akiko." She sniffed. "Love you too little brother." We let go and she gave me her trademark smirk before turning and getting on the train. With one last glance at her backpack covered back, I turned and began to walk slowly home. I wanted to cry. And I did. All the way home. I knew that no one would be there when I got there. I couldn't remember the last time I felt this lonely. fkgh98(^(&^(&6879 y43iuhj986*(&^*%uihKGJFY(&^$R&%$^FUOgbfu3w ty98476876iuhk Okay, well. It's taken me almost a year, but I've finally pooped out another shitty chapter. But I'll have another one up soon. If I don't, I know my friend will shoot me in the throat XDD. Sorry for the angst and the sappiness of this chapter, but it's somewhat needed, I guess. I still have no idea where I'm going with this yet, so give me another month before the next chapter. XD. Maybe less. I'm sorry that this took FOREVER to come up, I totally hit the biggest writer's block of my life for this story and just couldn't get away from it. I apologize. But here it is. And it sucks. I'm sorry. T_T [ leave comments ] Tootles! mood: drained music: Florecent Adolecent - Arctic Monkeys |

Home is home.>Chapter 4: +Say something outrageous+Chapter 3: ~Covering up the fine lines~Chapter 2: {I'm in the kitchen, boiling society.}Chapter 1: [You'll see them. They'll be standing there, watching.]"Akiko-chan, what would you like for breakfast?" I heard Mrs. Nakamura shout from the bottom of the steps. "Whatever, Nakamura-san! You're food is always good whatever you make!" Akiko is sincerely nice, but sometimes I think she tries too hard. I had just stepped out the shower when I heard Akiko shout that while standing right next to the door. Knowing her, I quickly tied the towel around my waist, and sure enough, there's Akiko just walking in without knocking. "You know I could have been naked." I said as I grabbed another towel to dry my hair. "Eh, it's not like I haven't seen you naked before. Hey, where’s the hairbrush?" I bent over to dry my hair better. "I don't know, Aki-chan. Probably in my room." Mrs. Nakamura didn't have another room in her house, so I was nice and let Akiko have my room, and I sleep on the couch in the living room. "And what are you doing up so early anyways?" "I'm gonna walk to you to school! That's all!" We told Mrs. Nakamura that Akiko is a very good friend of mine. She became suspicious because we look so much alike, but brushed it off. She probably wouldn't have said anything even if we did tell her that Akiko is my sister. This is Akiko's second day here. We both know that she'll leave soon, in a day or two, and we won't see each other again for a long time. "Oh yeah! Akiko-chan." "Hai?" "Is there anything you wanted for our birthday? I don't have a lot of money, but I can get you something." I stood up straight with the towel still on my head. I saw Akiko hesitate, as if thinking about it. "Well, I'd like to meet your friends! And I would like to see you play your bass! You've never played anything for me! That would be enough. I just wanna know you are happy, Ototo-kun!" She smiled at me. I rolled my eyes. "Alright fine. Just..." I tried to find the right words. "Just?" "Just don't say much about anything that happened in the past. Don't tell me to take off the wrap and don't do anything embarrassing, okay?" I pleaded. She glared. "Are you saying I'm embarrassing?" I rolled my eyes again. "No, not at all. You aren't in the least bit embarrassing, or loud mouth." "Hey hey! That wasn't - What are you doing?!" "Pushing you out of the bathroom so I can get dressed! What does it look like?!" "Reita-kun! You're so mean!" I said as I slammed the door in her face and locked it. I quickly got dressed, just incase she decided to unlock the door, just to piss me off. I swear, if we didn't look so much alike, I would think that she came from a completely different family. I combed my hair just the way I liked it. Most of it was in front of my face, just my right eye showing. A black streak running through the bleached hair ran from the back of my hair to the front where my hair covered my left eye. I ran my fingers up through the back of my hair so that it spiked up just slightly. I secured my face wrap around my face, covering my nose and some of my cheeks. "Take that ridiculous thing off!" I heard Akiko shout through the door. She just knew me that well. "NEVA!" I shouted back. "Breakfast is ready!" Mrs. Nakamura shouted. I checked to make sure I looked descent, then left the bathroom. I headed downstairs for breakfast. Akiko was entertainment for the morning. Her and Mrs. Nakamura talked the entire time. Sometimes Akiko would bring me into the conversation. But I'm not much of a morning person, so I didn't like to talk much. (x)(X)(x) "Itte-kimasu!" I said as I grabbed my backpack and made sure that Akiko was behind me. "Akiko-chan, are you sure you'll be okay getting back here?" "Yes! I'm pretty good with directions, I'll just have to pay attention how Reita-kun and I walk there and I'll be able to find my way back! Promise!" I still couldn't shake the thought that she was from a different family. Her and I were just too different. “Itte-kimasu!” Akiko said happily. She shut the door behind us. We walked down the walkway, Akiko blabbing away. “Nakamura-san is sooo nice! And her food is really good! It’s way better than what that bitch makes! Where’s her husband?” “He’s away on business, and don’t you ever shut up?” “Nope. So where is he exactly?” “I have no idea,” I said rubbing an sleep from my eyes. I yawned. I was so tired. That couch wasn’t comfortable to sleep on. Akiko put her arm around my should and slumped most of her weight on me. “Akiko-chan. Please get off me, you’re heavy.” “No you’re just weak. Wake up sleepyhead!” She got off of my shoulders but pushed me so that I fell into the road a little bit. I quickly adverted my step so that I was back on the sidewalk. “What the hell did you do that for?!” “How’s Ruki-kun doing? I miss him.” “You saw him yesterday.” “Is he mad? He seemed really upset when he left.” I looked to the ground and watched my feet. “I don’t know if he’s still mad or not. He could be. He didn’t call me last night, but that could have just been so that it would give us time to talk. I don’t know. I guess we’ll find out in a few minutes now won’t we?” “Will we?” I nodded. We were coming up to the school. Just about the time that Ruki would jump on my back. “Are you sure you don’t want me to explain everything that happened to him? I mean, I can tell him what I know.” “No. I’m gonna do it whenever I get the chance.” I felt my courage waver a bit. I had been planning on telling him next time him and I were alone, and I had been telling myself that I’d do it since last night when he left. “Alright.. AH!” Akiko jumped away from me when Ruki jumped on my back, which was what I was expecting. I laughed at Akiko’s shocked face. She leaned against the wall surrounding the school and held her heart. “Holy shit, Ruki-kun! You gave me a heart attack!” “He’s good at that, let me tell you.” I said, smiling. Ruki wrapped his hands around my neck. “Ohayo gozaimasu, Akiko-chan!” Ruki always seemed so happy, but I wondered. “Ohayo gozaimasu, Ruki-kun.” “Ohayo gozaimasu, Rei-ch…. Reita-kun!” Ruki stumbled over his words a little. “You can call me ‘Rei-chan’ in front of her. She doesn’t care.” “Nope!” Akiko said, recovering from her scare and going back to being her hyper self. She could be Ruki’s sister! They are both hyper all the time, and they both have one hell of a temper on them. Hm… “Neh neh! Rei-chan! Have you…-” “So you two have slept together?” Ruki and I froze. I could actually feel Ruki stiffen himself on my back. I just stopped walking and looked at Akiko. My face turned bright red and I’m pretty sure Ruki’s did too. “NO!” Ruki and I exclaimed together. Akiko laughed. “Oh my god! You just should see the looks on your faces! It’s hilarious!” “Oh shut up, Aki-chan.” I said, letting Ruki slide off my back. “Hey guys. What’s going on over here? I could hear you all the over from the building!” Kai come over to us with Uruha and Aoi behind him. “Hey guys!” Ruki happily bounced over to Aoi. “Hey. Guys, this is my sister, Suzuki Akiko. Aki-chan. This is Kai, Aoi , and Uruha.” Akiko bowed as did the rest of them. “Wow, you look so much alike! It’s unreal!” Uruha exclaimed. “Yeah, that’s because they’re twins doofus!” Ruki said, pushing Uruha lightly. “No way! How come you never told us you were a twin, Reita-kun! See, this is what I was talking about! You need to tell us things like this!” Uruha then flicked me in the head. “WHAT THE HELL?!” I said rubbing the sore spot. “Jeez Rei-kun! You haven't even told your friends about me?!” Since Akiko was standing beside me she got a better hit. She slapped me on the back of the head. “Why is everyone beating on me?!” “Okay, guys, I think we’ve hurt Rei-kun enough.” Ruki said. I silently thanked Ruki for sticking up for me. But somehow I knew that he would get me back sooner or later. “Are you alright, Reita-kun?” Kai asked. “Yeah I’m fine.” Just then the bell rang. “Oh shit! We’re late!” Kai said. “Well I guess we’ll see you later, Akiko-san?” “Yeah! I’ll see you guys later!” “Ja ne, Akiko-chan!” Ruki shouted as he walked away with Aoi. I noticed that Aoi didn’t say one word to Akiko. I knew that Aoi wasn’t a morning person, but he isn’t rude either. “See you Akiko-san!” Uruha said as he ran with Kai to class. I stayed behind to talk to Akiko. “Well, there’s my friends for the first time ever.” My sister smiled at me. “They seem really nice. But the kid with the black hair and the lip ring looks really familiar. And it’s making me a little uncomfortable. I don’t know, Reita-kun.” “You mean Aoi-kun? He’s really nice. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, Akiko-chan.” She glared at the direction that Aoi and Ruki had walked off. I touched her arm. She looked at me with the glare still on her face. “If you remember, tell me after school, okay?” She nodded. “Don’t stress over it. I trust Aoi.” “Alright. I won’t think to hard about it. I don’t think it’s anything important or anything. But ah! I’m keeping you from getting to class. Go!” “Alright, see you!” I turned and she kicked my butt. “Don’t walk! RUN!” “Yes ma’am!” ~~~~~~~~~~~~ We were in the middle of 3rd period when the usual note fell on my desk. I unfolded the piece of paper and read: Rei-chan
Do you wanna do something tonight? ♥ RukiI ripped the corner off of the paper I had been taking notes on. I wrote: Ruki-kun
Would it be okay if we went to your place? There’s something I want to talk to you about, and it would be better if we weren’t in public. And, plus, I've never been there before!
♥ ReitaI threw it over his shoulder where it landed on his notes. We had become pretty good at placing notes without a teacher noticing. Ruki unfolded it and read it over quickly. He turned it over and wrote something and threw it back. I read the note and stuck it in my pocket, while trying to cover up my laugh. Okie pokie. ~~~~ After school Ruki and I said our goodbyes to Kai, Uruha and Aoi before heading off to my house. We were silent walking to my house. We knew what was about to happen. I should have been more worried about it, but I wasn't. Whatever was going to happen, was going to happen. There wasn't anything I could change after tonight. Ruki and I walked hand in hand in silence. There wasn't anything that we could talk about out in the open. So, we were quiet. There was the feeling of uncomfortable ness but it wasn't completely there. Ruki waited for me outside my front gate while I ran inside to change into jeans and a black t-shirt. I told Mrs. Nakamura and Akiko that I was going to go over to Ruki's house and that's I'd be home later that evening. I ran outside with Akiko still yelling at me. I gave Ruki a small smile. He returned a small sad smile. Still, we held hands as Ruki led me to his house. We walked for a little, but Ruki's house wasn't that far away from mine. About a 15 minute walk. We reached his gigantic apartment complex. "Well, here we are!" Ruki said as he pulled out his huge thing of keys from his backpack. He unlocked the first door. "I'm on the top floor." So, we climbed the steps all the way up to the fourth or fifth level. "Is Sukie-san home?" I asked as he was unlocking his door. He shook his head as he pushed open the door. "Tadaima." Ruki announced quietly. I quickly pulled off my shoes and slid my way past him as he bent over to take his shoes off. "O-kaeri nasai!" I said happily. He looked at me a little shocked. I smiled at him. I tried to lighten the mood a little bit. I knew that what was going on wasn't a light topic, but the air was just so heavy right now. Ruki finally smiled at me. He stepped on the back of his other shoe to take it off then flung himself into my arms. Ruki snuggled himself into my arms and chest. I bent down and gave Ruki a kiss on top of his head. "Ruki...." "Would you like something to drink, Reita-kun?" I frowned a little when he looked up at me. Quickly, I changed my expression to a small smile. "No thank you Ruki-kun. I think I'd just like to get this over with." Ruki looked down at our feet, but nodded. He let go of me and walked over to the couch. Without looking at me, he patted the seat beside him. I walked over to him and hesitated. Instead, I knelt down in front of Ruki and grabbed his hands that were in his lap. He made a small noise. "Ruki-kun." He looked down, at our hands I guessed, so his hair was covering his eyes. "I'm not breaking up with you. That's honestly the last thing I want. I don't want to lose you; but if I keep hiding things, this isn't ever going to work out. So I have to tell you." He nodded, but didn't say anything. I wondered how he was really feeling right now, and if I should really continue. "Ruki... you aren't going to like what I say." I felt my own voice breaking up. Just thinking about what was going to be said made me scared, and even sad. Ruki shrugged. "I understand, I guess." Ruki said tiredly. I paused for a second, not thinking of what I was going to say, but thinking of how Ruki would react. Well, start from the beginning. Akiko's words echoed in my head. "And if you break up with me, I'll understand." Ruki shook his head, but still didn't look at me or say anything. "I mean, I don't want you to break up with me, but still, I just want you to know that if you want to you can..." "I get it!" Ruki sounded angry. "Just say what you have to say." His voice calmed a little bit at the end. "Okay. Ruki-kun." I swallowed. "I don't live with my real family anymore because I was..." my voice quivered a little. "...because I was accused of murdering the person who was my boyfriend at the time." I literally felt Ruki stiffen. He looked at me with wide eyes. "...Wha... What?" "I didn't do it! Please believe me!" I said. I could feel the red hot tears forming in my eyes. Ruki turned his gaze downward, but not so that his eyes were covered. "I was 12 at the time, my and Akiko's birthday was coming up. I had invited him over for dinner. My parents never accepted that I liked guys, so they hid it. They hid like it was the filthiest thing in the world. Sometimes they'd tell their distant friends that I had a girlfriend just to cover up. They already hated me. They ignored me a lot, but when they did acknowledge me, it was just to beat me. I never let that get me down though. What they did wasn't my concern. My parents liked to put on some act when I invited a friend over, I guess you could say. Oh well. Well, this kid was older than me, about 2 or 3 years, I don't remember. And, him and I were sitting on my bed, basically," I swallowed hard, I didn't want to explain this to Ruki. "We were basically making out and my mom walked in." I felt renewed tears well up in my eyes, almost spilling over. "And she well... I'll leave the details out, but she flipped out in rage and ended up hurting me, and killing him." I felt something wet land on my hands. I looked up to see Ruki's shaking shoulders. "So in the end, she tried to blame me in court saying that I did it. But I didn't, and so I was taken out of my house and put in foster care. And..." Ruki shook more and more as more tears landed on our hands. "Ruki.. Ruki... I'm sorry." I started crying here, no longer being able to hold them back. I dropped my head onto his knees. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry, Ruki! I didn't want you to know! I didn't want you to know I'm a murderer! I'll never forgive myself for that! And Ruki.. Ruki..." I felt Ruki's hand slid from underneath mine and start to stroke my hair. "Reit-" Ruki's voice cut off and he cleared his throat. "Reita... It's okay." He cleared his throat again. "There's nothing you need to apologize for." He played with my hair as I sobbed into his knees. Ruki slid off the couch, onto his knees beside me. He gripped my shoulders to make me face him. I kept my head down, covering my face. "No, Ruki-kun! It's not okay! I keep running away from everything! I can't come to terms with it! I just stood there and watch her kill him! That fucking bitch!" Now I sobbed into my hands. I covered my face and screamed into them. "I hate this! Why did Akiko have to bring it up?! I hate myself! I'm so weak!" "Reita!" Ruki seemed to have found his voice. "You are NOT weak! The fact that you told me all this makes you even stronger." He pulled me to him so that I was now sobbing into his shoulder and gripping the back of his shirt as if my life depended on it. He had his arms wrapped around my shoulders and soothingly moved his fingers up and down my back. "Reita-kun... Reita..." His voice started to disappear again. "I don't want to move again! I like it here! I have friends for the first time ever and I'm getting along with my foster parents!" There was more I was going to say, but I either forgot it or my voice stopped. "Shh, Reita-kun..." Ruki sniffled. "You aren't going to move again because I won't let them take you. And you aren't a murderer, what happened couldn't have been prevented. And no matter what happens, or happened, Aoi, Kai, Uruha, and I will always be your friend. Reita-kun.." I tightened my grip on his shirt. "Reita-kun... It's okay, you have nothing to apologize for." I wanted to thank him. I wanted to tell him that his words meant so much to me. To tell him that I was happy that he still accepted me. We sat like that for a while, until I had stopped crying. Ruki was very patient with me. When I finally had stopped crying, Ruki and I let go of each other. Ruki got up and got me a tissue. I wiped my eyes and my nose the best I could without taking off my nose wrap. "Aren't you going to take it off?" I shook my head. "No, I'm not ready to yet." Ruki pouted. "Before you can say anything. No." "Awe! Rei-kun!!" Things seemed back to normal again. I just needed to get that off my chest. "You know, Ruki-kun. You are the first person I ever told about that. Akiko didn't see the entire thing, she walked in the house, and yeah." I lowered my head and stared at my lap. "Ruki-kun... are you sure?" "Hm? Sure of what?" I paused. "Are you sure you still want to be with me?" "Of course! This doesn't change the person you are! You've just been through some hardships. Trust me Reita-kun, I don't want to be without you. I mean, I have secrets of my own, but that doesn't change who I am." He paused for a second, looked at the ceiling, then back at me. "I'm not sure if that made any sense... but oh well." Ruki and I laughed. Was this it? Were things really going to be this wonderful? I couldn't believe it. ~~~~~~~~ Somehow, Ruki and I fell asleep on his couch. I laid with my back pressed up against the back of the couch, and Ruki being pressed up to me. I had heard Sukie call my house earlier in the evening to tell Mrs. Nakamura that I'd be staying the night. I woke up in the middle of the night. I guessed it was about 1 or 2 in the morning. Ruki was sleeping soundly. I brushed some hair that had fallen in Ruki's face away, then placed my arm on his waist. I stared at how gorgeous Ruki is. Filled with a certain anxiety, I began to ask questions. Was Ruki serious? Did he really still want to be with me even after everything I've just told him? Was he usually this accepting of things? And now that Ruki knew, was Akiko going to stop bothering me about me confiding in someone? Ruki said he was hiding things; what kind of things could he be hiding from me? Where they as bad as what I just told him? I felt terrible, and the nauseous feeling in my stomach wasn't making things any better. I could feel the tears welt up in my eyes again. I felt so stupid for even telling Ruki, and even more ridiculous for crying so much. Tears started to leak down my face. No. This is no time to give up. Ruki shifted a little and I tightened my grip and pulled him closer to me so that he wouldn't fall off the couch. He subconsciously moved with the tug and buried himself further within my shirt. "Rei..ta..." Ruki whispered. It was almost inaudible, but I caught it. "..Ruki..." I said equally as quiet, if not quieter. "I still..." He breathed in deeply and let it out slowly through his nose. "..love.. you." I felt my heart stop at the words. He had never said them before. So, I guess he really was being honest. (x) (X) (x) Ruki and I were both in pain and stiff from sleeping so uncomfortably on the couch. We woke up early, Ruki quickly got ready for school, then we walked to my house so that I could get ready. We would have taken the car, but Sukie left a note specifically telling us NOT to drive. So we walked, more like jogged, the half a mile to the Nakamura's. When we finally got to my house, we were taking off our shoes when Akiko decided to scare us. "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING REITA??!" She glared at me and put her hands on her hips. How comical. "You say you are going over to Ruki-kun's house for a little bit. You don't even call to tell us you got there or how long you were staying! Good thing Ruki-kun stays with someone so smart! Sukie-san called us just to make sure that we knew you were there! She called at 10 at night! Do you know how worried Nakamura-san and I were?!" She took a deep breathe then smiled. "Ohayo gozaimasu, Ruki-kun." Ruki and I were both a little taken aback from Akiko sudden mood change. But that's girls for you. "Ohayo, Akiko-chan." "You aren't that fucking bitch, and you aren't Nakamura-san, so you can't yell at me!" I said in my defense. Even though I knew, and it proved to be worthless, I said it anyways. Akiko glared even more at me. "Anyways, I need to get ready for school. If it makes you happy you can continue yelling at me as I get ready, or after school that would be great. But if I don't start now, Ruki-kun and I are going to be late, AGAIN, and it'll be all your fault, AGAIN." Then I just walked past Akiko into the house with a little victory grin on my face. I quickly ran up the step and into my room. Gah! Akiko was trying to make this her room! It reeked of her perfume. Great, my uniforms probably all smell like her too. I hurriedly dressed into a clean uniform (which did in fact smell like Akiko), then made my way to the bathroom. I washed my face and fixed my hair and my small amount of make-up. I was in the middle of brushing my teeth when Akiko came in. "So did you guys have sex?" I just about choked on my toothpaste. "No!" I said after spitting out the paste. Akiko laughed. "And why not? You two seem closer now. I don't know what it is, something in the air around you guys." "I did what you told me too. I basically poured my heart out to him." "Awe, did you confess your love for him?" Akiko was trying to make this a laugh. I played along, but I didn't feel I should be laughing. "No." I tied the thin piece of fabric back over my face. "So if you really did tell him, why are you still wearing that damn thing?" She nodded towards the wrap over my face. I shook my head. "Well, I'm not about to go back to school without it, people would have heart attacks." My sister shook her head and rolled her eyes, but was smiling at the same time. "So how did he take it?" She asked, leaning against the door frame. I shrugged, "Pretty good, I guess. He's here so I guess that means he doesn't hate me." "Hmm, I guess you're right." I nodded, then pushed past her again to get out of the bathroom. I went down the steps to the kitchen. Ruki was standing, staring off into space, leaning against the counter, holding a mug. I guess that would be coffee Ruki's drinking. Awesome, just what the kid needs. More sugar. "Ruki-kun? You alright?" "Hm? Yeah!" He said not tearing his gaze away from whatever it was he was staring at. "My eyes are just caught. Don't you hate that?" He asked, chuckling. I took the few steps over to reach Ruki. I stood in front of him, and placed a hand on his hip. His gazed eyes looked into mine. I got the feeling that there was more than what he was letting on, but he wouldn't tell me. It felt as if he were reading me, even though there wasn't much else to read. I knew he could tell I was miserable, and hiding it wasn't helping. Ruki set his mug on the counter behind him then wrapped his arms around my neck. He leaned up and gave me a kiss on the lips. "I haven't said good morning to you yet this morning Rei-chan. I just realized that." He paused, then his smile widened. "Ohayo gozaimasu, Rei-kun!" I smiled and leaned down a little to whisper something in his ear. I could already feel my cheeks burning at what I was going to say. "Ohayo, Ruki-chan." I pulled away from his ear to see a shocked but amused expression. He opened his mouth to say something, but I silenced it by placing my lips on his. Ruki moaned lightly as he felt my tongue slid in his open mouth. I felt Ruki's tongue slid against mine, making the kiss even deeper. "AHEM!" Ruki and I jumped so far apart from each other, it was amazing. My heart was pounding so hard. "Akiko! You didn't have to scare us!" I shouted. "I couldn't pass up the chance. And what if Nakamura-san had walked in instead of me?" "Nakamura-san knows we're dating... well, I think she does, she's good at inferring things, and being correct. Besides, where is she?" I asked looking around the kitchen. I took a glance at Ruki who had a hand over his hand as if to settle it. I fought a laugh. "She went to the airport to pick up her husband." "Oh okay." I knew that meant something to me, but I just couldn't stop looking at how cute Ruki was when he was scared. And blushing heavily. Kawaii. "Oh I know!" Ruki suddenly chimed in. "We should all go out to dinner tonight! You know, the six of us!" "Oh! That sounds like a great idea!" She clapped her hands together. "But! You guys really should be heading to school. You're gonna be late!" "What about you Akiko, don't you go to school?" "There's no time to talk about that! Just go!" She said, pointing to the front door. So we left. We walked to school, fingers entwine, and just watch the traffic go by. We weren't in any hurry. We already knew we'd be late even if we ran. "So does Akiko-chan go to school? How come she's taking so many days off?" "Akiko quit school and works everyday. Our parents don't know that. They think she goes to school and is a good student. She'll put on an act and everything just so that they don't get suspicious." I just kept my eyes forward. I didn't want Ruki to see the truth in my eyes. “Oh. Okay.” He said kind of sadly. I shoved him with my shoulder a little bit. “Don’t be affected by it! Aki-chan is doing fine. As soon as she ‘graduates’ then she is gonna move out and live near me, even though I don’t really want her to because all she’ll do it bitch.” Ruki smiled but still looked at the ground. “Listen Ruki-kun. I’m sorry, but please don’t pay much mind to it. Like you said, everything is in the past.” “I’m just worried is all.” Ruki said quietly, as if he didn’t want to say it at all. “About what Ruki-kun?” “Just…” he looked up. Both of us just noticed that we had reached the school. We walked on the school grounds, still holding hands. “Just that… I’m not sure. I’m just worried about you is all.” “Well, don’t. I’ll be just fine.” ~~~~~~~~~ “Jeez! What took you guys so long this morning?! You guys are so lucky that this teacher forgets to mark you late all the time.” Aoi said watching us. “Yeah yeah yeah.” Ruki said as he took his seat in front of me. “We had to walk from my house to Rei-kun’s and then here.” Aoi quirked an eyebrow at that. “Yes, Rei-kun stayed the night.” Ruki said changing his tone, making it sound a little more.. What’s the word…playful? Seductive? Either one fit. “Oo~h! You guys didn’t do anything did you?” “NO!” - “You know it!” Ruki and I looked at each other. I looked worried and Ruki had a wide grin on his face. I guess he was back to normal. “Hey, Uru-kun!” Aoi turned in an awkward way to look at Uruha who was behind him. “Guess what Ru-kun and Rei-kun did last night~!” Uruha gave us a big perverted smile. “Did they do the naughty?” I felt my face flush at that. Ruki, Aoi and Uruha all laughed really hard at that. “Guys! Quit picking on Reita-kun!” I heard Kai call from somewhere in the classroom. I’ve been going to this school for 3 months now and I still have no idea where Kai sits. I felt Ruki nudge me with his elbow. “Ah!” Ruki made a strange noise and pulled out his cell phone. He started to type quickly. Just as Ruki closed his phone and stuck it back in his pocket, Aoi pulled out his. He smiled widely, which faded slightly, just so that he could fix it again. Well that wasn’t strange, Aoi-kun. I thought to myself. “Alright, alright.” Aoi chuckled. Uruha, who was playing with his phone at the time, dropped it on his desk when it began to vibrate in his hands. I muffled my laugh while Aoi just pointed and laughed openly. Uruha flipped Aoi off then continued staring at his phone. “What’d you do? Start a chain?” I asked Ruki who winked. “I guess you could call it that. I’m just making sure everyone knows about our dinner plans.” “Okay, Ruki-kun.” I smiled at him then brushed his cheek with the back of my fingers. I’m usually not this forward or affectionate, but I felt that he deserved it after all that I put him through. I was nervous as hell to do this in front of the class. I saw a flash then looked over at Aoi. “KAWAII! URU-KUN LOOK AT THIS!” Aoi had obviously just taken a picture of us with his phone. He had like a spilt personality or something. One minute he would be completely serious and yelling at people to finish whatever it is, then he would switch and be goofing off and perverted like the rest of us. Ruki smiled and leaned over the back of his chair so we could kiss briefly. In unison, both Aoi and Uruha went: “AWWWE!!” Ruki and I both blushed a little when they did that. Ruki went off and talked to Aoi and Uruha while I went off into my own little world. First I thought about something that Akiko said that was important that I ignored... OH SHIT... Mr. Nakamura was coming home! After my panic attack (that went undetected by everyone else), I thought again about the night before. I told someone, this all felt weird. But not different at all. Me telling someone didn’t change the fact that I still did it, and that I’ll never be clean. Oh god, I felt so guilty about everything. The guilt in my stomach started to become too much. As fast as I could, I stood up and bolted. I heard Ruki called after me and some chairs move, but I just continued down the hallway. I ran into the boys’ bathroom where I began to throw up. Shit. I lied. I lied to Ruki big time. There was no way to get away from it. “Reita-kun? Are you okay?” I just realized that I didn’t bother to close the stall door. I sat as a heap on the floor in front of the toilet. I turned and looked at Kai and Uruha giving me twin worried looks. Tears streamed down my face. I felt so dirty. So ashamed. I broke into sobs. “I lied! Tell him I’m sorry!” I cried. Neither Kai or Uruha knew what I was talking about. They didn’t know what to say or do. Eventually Kai flushed the toilet and sat me upright while Uruha got some paper towels to clean my face. “I lied! It was my fault! I really did it!” I shouted between sobs. Everything else was a blur. Kai had taken me home where Akiko took care of me. She settle me on the couch (because I didn't want to be in my room because it smelled so much like perfume). "So," Akiko said as she rung out a washcloth and place it on my forehead. I wasn't running a fever, she just wanted to do it. "Why are you here? What happened?" "I couldn't do it." "Couldn't do what?" "I COULDN'T TELL RUKI THAT'S WHAT!" Akiko didn't flinch, she just stared at the water as I proped myself up on my elbow and glared at her. "You told him what you told the court, is that right?" I slumped back down on the couch. Covering my eyes with my arm, more tears rolled down my face. "I love him, Akiko. I just couldn't." Chapter 4: +Say something outrageous+Chapter 3: ~Covering up the fine lines~Chapter 2: {I'm in the kitchen, boiling society.}Chapter 1: [You'll see them. They'll be standing there, watching.]Ew, did someone just lick my face? I opened my eyes and rolled over to the right from my position on my back, to see someone was lying next to me. I couldn't tell who it was, for some odd reason, I couldn't make out their face from the blurriness of waking up. "Ah, who...?" "You don't need to talk, Rei-chan. I know all about you." Wait, I know that voice. "Wait a second. How'd you get in my bed? Or in my house for that matter?" The person chuckled. "You invited me in, silly!" they poked me on the nose. I looked around my room everything was clear. It still looked like my room at Nakamura’s house, but there was definitely something different about it. "Did I go drinking or something earlier? I don't remember anything." I said, rubbing my eyes and staring at the blurry face in front of me. The person moved closer to me as I brought my hand back down in front of me. "No you weren't drunk, Rei-chan." My eyes widened. "What, wait?! I'm confused…. How?" A finger was laid on my lips, silencing my pointless ramble. "You don't have to worry about a thing..." the person wrapped an arm about my waist, pulling me close to them as they moved closer to me. Even as they moved closer to me, the blurriness didn't fade away. But even so, their voice sunk in even more. When it suddenly hit me, just as our lips were about to meet. "!!" BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP! I opened my eyes and looked at the object that was producing that annoying noise. "WAAAH! I'M LATE!" I quickly got up and went to get dressed. I rushed around my room trying to find a decent uniform. Ruki and I have been together for about 6 weeks now, I guess you could just say 2 months since that's coming up soon enough anyways. We've been on a few dates and have hung out. But we haven't kissed. I'm too nervous to get attached to him like that. I like Ruki a lot but I haven't been able to bring myself to do anything with him but cuddle and hold hands. I know, I sound like a virgin girl who's afraid to go any further, but I just can't help it. My past is a constant reminder. I had one leg in my pants when the phone started to ring. I pulled them on hurriedly, and almost tripping, went down the hall to answer the phone. "Moshi, moshi?" Uruha and I have become better friends. We hang out a lot more and talk about things. We really have a lot in common, other than the fact that he's a fashion obsessed girly looking boy. Well, I call him that and he makes fun of my nose wrap. So it's alright. Kai and I talk more too. I feel I can open up to him. Which I can, just I don't. I've told him a few things about Ruki and I and about how I'm nervous, but nothing more than that. He just smiles and cooks dinner for me, gives me advice occasionally. Aoi and I have also become close. I usually hang out with Aoi when Ruki is around. Not that it bothers me; Aoi is a very nice guy. Attractive as well (although I would never admit that to Ruki). "REITA-KUN!" "Uruha-kun? Since when have you had my number?" "Since I stole Ruki-kun's cell phone. Yeah and why haven't you given me your number? Quit trying to hide from everyone! Hand out you phone number to your friends. I'm pretty sure Kai-kun doesn't have your phone number either...." "Uruha-kun, why did you steal Ruki-kun's cell phone? And are you calling me from it?" I asked. "Um, I stole it yesterday during class. Really! That kid doesn't pay attention to a damn thing! And yes! And why don't you call him Ruki-chan? You two have been dating long enough." No one else but Ruki and I know that we haven't kissed or anything. "Uh, no. But is there a specific reason you called? Are you at school?" Giving up on asking why or how he took Ruki's cell phone without Ruki noticing was beyond me. He seemed excited. "Um, no. It’s Sunday, Rei-kun! Ruki-kun called Aoi-kun, and Aoi-kun told me to call you and tell you..." Uruha trailed off. I heard a few ruffled noised. "Uruha-kun?" Pause. "Hai. Ruki-kun said that you need to meet him at the park. He said that you'd know which one he was talking about." I took me a second to realize something was different. "Aoi-kun?" "Yup." He sounded so casual. "When did you get the phone?" "I took it from Uruha-kun when he stopped making sense." He said. The smirk on his face was heard clearly in his voice. I heard Uruha shout a “Hey!” in the background. "So where were you 5 minutes ago?" Aoi chuckled. Aoi and I picked a little fun at Uruha, it was all fun and games, and Uruha never took it to heart. "So? Are you leaving?" "Uh, yeah I guess so. Really quick though, is it really Sunday?" "Yeah. Jeez, Reita-kun, get with it!" “Sorry, just waking up…” "Alright alright. I'll talk to you later. Ja!" "Ja ne!" I placed the phone back in it's cradle and back to my room. I felt a little lost and confused. I could have sworn it was Saturday. Oh well. I wondered when Ruki had called them and if he was still waiting. On that thought, I got changed into khaki colored pants and a long sleeve white shirt underneath a dark blue short sleeve shirt. After checking my face wrap, my hair and making sure I had my wallet, I trudged my way downstairs, and pulled on my shoes. I didn't bother leaving a note, Mrs. Nakamura wasn't supposed to be back home until the next morning. I closed the door and began my journey to the park only three blocks away. The day was nice, kind of hot. It was too late to go back to the house and change shirts. I pushed my sleeves up and shoved my hands into my pockets. When I made it to the park, Ruki was sitting in the same swing when we met here for the first time. “Ruki-kun.” He turned around in his swing. When he turned around, my dream hit me. I stopped walking and froze. Was that really Ruki? . “Rei-chan!” He leapt off the swing and ran towards me. Hurriedly hiding my confusion and worry, I took a few steps closer to Ruki. “Have you been waiting long?” Ruki squeezed me tightly around my middle, causing my back to crack. He laughed and let go. I looked at Ruki’s face and brushed my fingers against his cheek. “Not too long.” “I’m sorry, Uruha-kun wasn’t making too much sense.” Ruki chuckled; he leaned his head into my palm and closed his eyes. “It’s alright, I understand. Hey do you wanna go somewhere with me?” He asked with his eyes still closed. “Of course.” I said running my fingers along his cheek. “Good, get in the car.” he said dully before turning away from me and walking to the other side of the park where his car was parked. He pulled his a million and one keys from his pocket. Not even looking at them, he grabbed one and dangled the rest. “Wait wait! I’m not getting in the car with you Ruki-kun!” I said in a slightly panicked state. “Meh! Get over it Rei-kun! Just get in the damn car, I promise I won’t kill you Rei-chan.” He did have a point. I reluctantly followed him to his car and got in on the passengers side, where I quickly fastened my seatbelt. Ruki gave me a pouting look when he saw how fast I buckled myself in. “I’m not a bad driver, Rei-kun! You have to believe me!” “Oh I believe you alright, I just don’t wanna take any chances.” ~~~~~~~~~ Nothing, not one damn thing, could have prepared me for Ruki's driving. It was petrifying!! I was so scared that I couldn't even yell at Ruki for him to watch where he was going, or anything. He was insane. He was driving 90 mph when the speed limit was 35 mph! I swear we almost got into 5 accidents on our way. Ruki got out of the car, and slammed his door shut. I barely heard it close, but it brought me back from watching my life flash before my eyes. My knuckles were white from griping the door so tightly. I jumped when Ruki banged on my window. "Rei-kun! Get out of the car!" Swallowing hard, I reluctantly unbuckled my seat belt and shakily got out of the car. “Jeez, my driving isn’t that bad!” That’s what you think. I felt it would be better not to criticize Ruki out loud. I never really got car sick before, but now I really know what those people are always complaining about. I looked around to find myself in the familiar parking lot of the local arcade. Ruki and I came here a lot. This is where we had our first date as a couple after me treating him to dinner. That’s the last time I ever treat a black hole like him to a meal…. Make that 10. But then he paid for all the games we played, so it was okay, I guess. Ruki grabbed my hand. “Come on, Rei-chan!” He dragged me the next couple of feet to the arcade. It makes me nervous when Ruki calls me “Rei-chan” or anything with “-chan”. I just have some personal issues with being called that. Nothing against Ruki. I’m not going to say anything to him about it. So it doesn’t matter. But like Uruha said, we have been dating long enough, but I just can’t bring myself to call him anything other than “Ruki-kun”. Not even “Ru-kun” gets said by me. Like I said before, Ruki and I have never kissed. He’s tried once, but I pushed him away. I felt bad afterwards. He apologized to me, but I told him that it was just me. I can’t stand myself. I’m blocking the best thing in my life from myself. Ruki dragged me over to the DDR board. Oh shit. I suck at DDR. When I pushed Ruki away when he tried to kiss me, I started to cry. Ruki kept asking me why I was crying, and if it was his fault. I told him it wasn’t, and I told him I couldn’t tell him why I was crying. But I can say this. The person in my dream definitely wasn’t Ruki. Ruki laughed at me when I failed the first level on Beginner mode. I pulled a couple of coins from my pocket and handed them to Ruki who started another game for us. “Neh, Ruki-kun. How about we play that new game after this round?” I asked. “The one where you kill all the zombies?” “Yeah that one. I haven’t played it yet.” “Alright we can.” He said just before he hit the button to start the next round. Ruki’s on Standard, while I’m still on Beginner. I can’t help it! I just happen to suck at DDR! “Come on Reita! Come on!” “Shut up! I’m trying!” He laughed at me when I stumbled slightly. Just when I was about to give up did the song end. “Oh my god! Yay! Rei-chan! You passed your first song!” “Shut up, Ruki-kun.” I said crossing my arms and sending a glare to Ruki. “Alright next song!” I sighed. I loved coming here with Ruki, but I could honestly say that I didn’t have the same preference of games as him. I failed the second song so Ruki and I just quit and headed over to the new game. Killing zombies! Yay! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Somehow we ended up back at my place. I don’t know how I got back into Ruki’s car, nor do I know how I let him in. I think I’ve let Ruki come in once, but only to push him back out. “Do you want something to eat?” Whoops, maybe I shouldn’t have offered that. “Sure, but just something small.” We headed our way to the kitchen. Mrs. Nakamura likes to listen to music all the time, so there was a cd player in the kitchen, which I quickly turned on, not being able to stand the silence any longer. “Help yourself to whatever, Ruki-kun.” Ruki gave me a devilish smile. I didn’t like it too much. Then he winked at me just to make my suspicions worse. I turned then jumped up to sit on the counter top next to the cd player. I watched Ruki look in the fridge and all the cabinets. He made an “AH HA!” when he found a glass. He filled it half full of water in the sink about 1.5 meters from me. He took a sip from it before he walked over to me. He stood between my open legs. He held the glass between us with one hand and the other hand disappeared somewhere behind me. “Rei-chan? Are you alright? You’re giving me a strange look.” He gave me a worried glance. I felt my heart start beating faster in my chest. I stared at him, and swallowed. I didn’t know what expression was really on my face, all I could think about was that person. That mother fucker. “Reita-kun? Reita-kun? REITA!” “What?!” I snapped. The anger the so quickly swelled up inside me quickly turned to nervousness. I began to fidget. Ruki took a tiny step backwards, but changed that as the hand that disappeared behind me reappeared and cupped my cheek. “What’s wrong? What were you just thinking about?” Ruki asked in a soothing voice. I shook my head slowly. “I can’t tell you.” “Why not?” “I just can’t. I’m sorry. It’s not your fault.” I do this all the time to him and I feel terrible about it. I have to fucking reminisce while Ruki is looking me straight in the eye. Looking right through me. I’m such a child. “Fine whatever.” Ruki looked hurt for a second before he got the devilish smile again. “Wha-?” It was so fast. Ruki took a sip of water. And suddenly… I was all wet. “Oh? So that’s how you wanna play, eh?” I said wiping the water away from my eyes. I tried hard not to form my own grin. Failing, I grinned wide as I locked my legs around Ruki and began to tickle him. He squirmed and flailed about. Even in the mess, Ruki managed to set his glass down and started to try and get my hands away from him. When he finally grabbed a hold of my hands, he laced our fingers together and looked me straight in the eye. Our faces were just inches from each other. Hmm? It seemed like Ruki’s face was getting closer. I licked my lips quickly without thinking too much. I tried not to ruin the moment. This was finally my chance for me to break away from my past. Ruki’s eyes were closed. I felt a slight brush against my lips and decided to take it. Oh my. And why didn’t I kiss this man sooner? His lips were so soft. They felt wonderful. I can’t really explain it. It’s amazing. He moved his lips against mine. Slowly, but surely, I felt his tongue trace my bottom lip. I opened my mouth slightly to let his tongue wonder when… The phone rang. Ruki opened his eyes and pulled away. “Maybe you should answer that.” Ruki smiled widely at me. There was a slight blush on his face. I slid down from the counter and pulls Ruki’s face up to mine again, connecting our lips. I pulled away and walked to the wall with the phone on it. Feeling lazy, I pushed the speaker button. “Moshi moshi?” There was a little bit of static on the other end, but no one said anything. “Moshi moshi?” I said a little louder and closer to the cradle. There was some ruffling then: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY OTOTO-KUN!!!!” Oh. Shit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A/N: Okay, so this chapter sucks, massively. But Ruki and Reita kiss and some person is there at the end! Oh no! Okay, since this chapter sucked sooo bad, I’m gonna make it a double chapter! That’s right! Now… KEEP READING! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oh. Shit. I completely forgot it was my birthday! And now... now.... ..... "Reita-kun? Are you okay?" "Ototo-kun?" ..... I felt Ruki come over to me and grab my shoulders. "Reita-kun?" He took a step over to the phone. "Um, hold on a second. Reita-kun seems to have zoned out." "Okay! That doesn't surprise me. That he zoned out anyways. He's trying to block it out." I could hear the voices. The voice of a girl coming from the phone, and Ruki standing next to me. "Reita-kun! Reita-kun!" he said a in hurried whisper. "Why didn't you tell me it was your birthday? Oi!" He shook my shoulders. "Ototo-kun! Get over it already!" The girl on the phone said with impatient in their voice. .... "HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET THIS NUMBER?!" I shouted at the phone, causing Ruki to jump away from me. "Hmph! Is that any way to speak to your older sister?" "Sister?" Ruki asked looking at me, confused. "Fuck that! You're older by 15 minutes!" "You're a twin?!?!" Ruki asked, surprised, clasping onto my arm. "How did you get this number, Akiko-chan? Tell me!" "Hi Akiko-san! I'm Ruki!" "Hi Ruki-kun! How are you?" "I'm go-mmph!" I covered Ruki's mouth with my hand and pulled him close to me, so that his back was against my stomach. " Onee-chan?" "Hai, Ototo-kun?" "Would you be so kind as to tell me where you are? And how the hell you got my number?" I was starting to get impatient with her. "Don't ask me that, you know I'll never let you know how I get your numbers!" Ruki started to squirm in my arms. I moved my hand away from his mouth. He looked up at me and I looked down at him. With a quick kiss on his head, he looked back at the object producing that voice. My twin sisters voice. "So why are you calling me?" "Today's our birthday, silly! So happy birthday!" "Happy birthday to you too!" I said quickly. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY GUYS!" "Thanks Ruki-kun." I said, kissing Ruki on the head again. He smiled up at me. "Thank you Ruki-kun! Hey, Rei-kun?" "What, Aki-chan?" "You wanna come pick me up at the train station?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So Ruki and I ended up driving over to the train station. I felt nervous. Akiko was here, but why? How? How did she find out where I am? How was she doing? I grabbed hold of Ruki's hand and squeezed it. I knew he could feel my nervousness. He squeezed my hand back and smiled up at me. I tried to return it, but I couldn't. He laid his head on my shoulder. It was starting to get dark outside. We were standing away from the train itself, leaning against the station building. "So what does she look like?" "She looks a lot like me, but... well, I'm not sure what color hair she has now. It might just be black." I felt him nod against my shoulder. I gulped. I haven't seen my sister in a while, and I was scared. Her visits usually weren't to happy. They didn't usually end well, but somehow, we were still somewhat close. We haven't lived with each other for 3 years now, not since I moved away from my parents. "There! Is that her?" Ruki pointed to someone in the crowd. I looked where he was pointing. He waved his hand, and I quickly grabbed it and pulled it down. He glared up at me playfully, but then I realized it wasn't playful. "How come you never told me you had a sister?" "...Well I ...." "Nevermind Reita, we'll talk later." He sounded mad. He squeezed my hand a little harder. I wasn't sure if I should have taken that as 'I'm not that mad.' or 'Better watch your back'. I took it more as a 'Watch it'. "Listen Ruki-kun, I didn't mean to..." "REI-KUUUU~N!!!" I felt arms wrap around my neck and a body collide with mine. I felt Ruki's hand begin in slip away from mine, but I quickly made my grasp tighter. I looked at him out of the corner of my eye. He looked shocked. I wrapped my free hand around the person's waist. "Akiko-chan." She pulled away from me. Her and I looked a lot alike, but of course she looked a lot more feminine. My eyes widened when I saw her completely. "HOLY SHIT, AKI-CHAN! That bitch let you dye your hair that color?!" Her hair was blue. Just, bright blue. "Do you like it?" "No!" Ruki chuckled next me. I tugged him closer to me with my hand. Akiko gave me a pouting look. "Aki-chan, this is Matsumoto Ruki, Ruki-kun, this is my twin sister Suzuki Akiko." Ruki bowed, and so did Akiko. Now... Why did things suddenly feel awkward? Oh yeah... "So is this your new boy toy, Ototo-kun?" "Akiko!" She gave me a triumphant smile while I glared at her. "Reita-kun? How did she know?" Ruki leaned over to whisper to me. I tugged at our hands and turned to whisper, "Not only are we holding hands, but she's the only other person to know I like guys...and accept it." Ruki nodded. "So, are we just going to stand here all day or are we gonna go back to your place, Rei-kun?" "Alright, but don't you have any bags?" I asked looking at the ground around her. "I have my backpack." She said pointing to her back. "That's all I need, I'm not staying long." "How long are you staying?" "A few nights. Bitch will start bitching again. Now can we move? We can talk more when we get to your place." "Okay okay!" "I'LL DRIVE!" Ruki shouted happily, skipping off. Akiko laughed. "You better keep him, Reita. I like him. He's cute and he seems really nice. Don't let them get to you." I nodded, but mostly to myself. She was right after all. I couldn't let it end like that one did. ~~~~~~~~~~ "WOOOO! Ruki-kun! I like how you drive!" Ruki and Akiko laughed, while I stumbled out of the car and into the house. "Tadaima!" I said as I took off my shoes. "Is anyone even here? Are your foster parents here?" Akiko said, entering the house after me. I turned around to see Ruki standing still looking at the ground behind Akiko. "No, no one is. Ruki, would you please go in the living room, I need to talk to Aki-chan for a second." he nodded and walked past us after taking off his shoes. When he went around the corner to the living room I turned to look at Akiko who was smiling. "Listen, Onee-chan, there's a lot I haven't told Ruki about myself. He didn't know about me living with foster parents. He didn't even know about you until you decided to scream into the phone. I never told him about my family." "You're fault for putting it on speaker phone. And why do you keep locking yourself up? Are you ashamed of me? Don't you have any friends? And why the hell are you still wearing that fucking band? Listen, I know life back at home was hard but you need to move on! Ruki-kun is a nice guy, be nicer to him! Quit being so god damned cold! I bet Ruki is hurt that you didn't tell him it was your birthday and that he knows nothing about you!" She stopped talking and grabbed the front of my shirt, pulling me up a little so that my face was slightly closer to hers. "I find you all the time so that I can be with you, and that I can make sure you are taking care of yourself, not to come baby sit you and tell you what to say! I'm sick of this already and I've been here 5 minutes! I swear, if I knew where the hell I was, I'd storm outta here right now! But I won't." She let go of my shirt and set me down. "And get in there and start fucking explaining!" "I can't do that. You don't understand." I said grinding my teeth. "Just because things went wrong with Hi-" "Things didn't just 'go wrong' with him, and you know that." I spat. I was getting mad. Really really mad. "Why do you think I don't live at home anymore? Why do you think that that FUCKING BITCH sent me away? Huh? Was that all really my fault?! I‘m just getting back on my feet and you want me to find the nearest person and spill my heart out to them?! I can‘t do that Akiko! You don‘t understand!" Akiko knew I was mad. I don't get mad often, but when I do, I get violent. But Akiko held her ground, she didn't step back like most people would. "No, it wasn't your fault." She said almost sarcasticly. "Still, you could have been smarter about everything. Now, quit letting things that happened between you and Hir-" "Don't say his name." "Fine, everything that happened between you and him are in the past and you shouldn't let that get in the way of you and Ruki being happy. You two standing there holding hands was really cute. You guys seemed really happy. Now quit-" Here she shoved me lightly, but enough for me to know that she was mad as well. "-trying to let your past get in the way. You're fucking things up already." She walked past me and disappeared around the corner to enter the living room where Ruki was sitting. I didn't turn around to watch her go that way, but I knew she went that way because she didn't know where else to go. I clenched my fist and threw it into the wall. "Reita-kun?!?" I heard Ruki's worried voice through the wall. "I'm okay, Ruki-kun! I'll be there in a minute!" How dare she bring that up! It wasn't my fault! I didn't do it! I looked down at my hand. It wasn't bleeding but it hurt. I looked at the wall and saw a small dent there. Well, at least it wasn't too noticeable. I rubbed at my eyes and straightened my face wrap. I took a deep breath, and walked into the next room. Ruki and my sister were deep in conversation. I walked in and sat next to Ruki. I sat close enough that if he wanted to lean on me he could, but I made sure to leave some space between us incase he was still mad. I wasn't listening to what they were talking about, even though I probably should have, just incase I needed to give some input. I hear Akiko laugh at something Ruki said. He probably was telling her about the time he gave me a heart attack. That totally wasn’t cool. I was brought back from my thoughts when I felt fingers glide in between mine. “Oh yeah! Did Reita-kun, tell you that we are in a band?!” Ruki said excitedly. “No way! Are you really?” I nodded. “Yeah.” “So all that time raising money for that bass paid off, neh?” Akiko said giving me a smile. “Ruki here is vocals. Kai is our drummer, and Aoi and Uruha are our guitarists.” Ruki was almost hopping in his seat. He always got excited when we talked about our band, and especially the next part. “We have a show this weekend!” Akiko’s eyes lit up. “No way. I don’t believe you.” “We do, believe me.” I said. She shook her head. “There’s no way you are going to get up on stage and perform! That’s so unlike you! You’ll freeze!” I fidgeted in my seat a little bit. “No! I believe he can do it!” Ruki said with a confident smile. “Are you gonna be here to see us play, Akiko-san?” “You can just use ‘-chan’. And I’m not sure if I will or not. I might get found.” Akiko said, smiling at Ruki. Ruki looked confused. I sighed. “Our bitch of a mother tries to keep tight ties on Akiko-chan here.” “Why?” Ruki asked, looking between Akiko and I. I shrugged. I honestly didn’t know. Akiko looked away from Ruki and me to stare a the arm rest. “We aren’t really sure. She just likes to keep a close watch on me.” “Are you allowed to be here?” Ruki asked. He’s so innocent sometimes. “Nope.” Akiko looked at Ruki and smiled. “So it’s just our secret alright?” "So Akiko is just a close friend of mine from a different city, alright Ruki-kun?" I asked. I knew he was confused. I knew he was still mad at me. He was trying so hard to grasp onto anything that wasn't a lie, or a cover-up. Since he couldn't make heads or tails of our conversation, he tightened his grip on my hand. "Okay, I get it." I knew he didn't, but I wasn't going to say anything. I leaned over and cupped his ear. "I'm sorry. I'll explain later, I promise." Ruki just kept staring at Akiko. I looked at his eyes and noticed they were staring to swell up with tears. "Ruk-." "I'm gonna go, okay?" Ruki said standing up, and letting go of my hand. "It's getting late and Oka-san will wonder where I am." I nodded and he started to walk away. I got up and started to walk away. "I'm going to see Ruki-kun off." I said turning to Akiko, who, in return, nodded and waved her hand. Ruki was sitting on the ledge of the enterance. "Ruki-kun..." "Reita-kun." He sounded so sad. It literally broke my heart. "I...." He shook his head. He finished putting on his shoes and stood up. "Happy birthday." was the last thing he said before running out the door. I shook there shocked for a second before running after him. No, this time, Akiko was right, I needed to fight. I can't fuck this up. I caught him on the sidewalk before he could get to his car. I pulled him by his arm and held him against my chest where he tried to get away. "Reita-kun! Let go! You need to talk to your sister! Go! Leave me alone!" "NO!" I said, holding him tighter to me. "No! Akiko is right. I can't fuck this one up. Listen Ruki-kun. A lot of stuff happened between Akiko and I that is hard for me to talk about. So you'll have to be patient with me, but I will tell it to you." Ruki stopped struggling. "You promise?" I hesitated. "Reita-kun?" "I promise." Ruki didn't hug me back, he just stood limp in my arms. "I'm sorry Ruki-kun... I didn't want to drag you into my life. I didn't want to hurt you. And believe me when I say that I had absolutely no idea that it was my birthday." Ruki laughed and I smiled. He looked up at me. Tears were still lining his eyes, but none had spilled. "Ruki-kun. I like you.. a lot. You have to believe me. But there's stuff in my past preventing me from moving on. When I tell you about everything that happened, I'll tell you why I wear a face wrap." Ruki's smile widened. "Really?! Will I ever see you without it?!" He seemed so excited. "Uh... Maybe." "Okay! But no, really, I should go. Tell Akiko-chan that I'm sorry I left so quickly." "I will." I losened my grip on him. He sniffled but smiled at me. If possible, my hear broke even more. "Ruki-kun... I promise. I'm going to be stronger." Ruki smiled. He leaned up and placed a light kiss on my lips. "Well, ja ne!" He said before turning and running to his car. He didn't look back at me. Right then, I knew things were going to be different. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "So, is Ruki-kun okay?" "He apologizes for leaving so abruptly." I said taking a seat where Ruki was previously sitting. It was still warm. I felt a guilt wash over me. "Akiko, what can I do? I can't even begin to explain things to Ruki-kun." "You like him that much, huh?" She folded her arms across her chest. "Well, start off from the begining. And take off that damn wrap!" I knew that she hated that thing to no end. "Nope." I said simply. "Take it off!" It was irritating her so much. I loved it. She is my sister after all, and as her brother, I have every right to annoy her. She leaped from her chair across from me and ludged at me. "Oh no you don't!" I said. I pushed her away with one hand and with the other I put a hand over my face. "TAKE THE DAMN THING OFF! I SWEAR I'M GONNA BURN IT!" Ah, I love my sister, in all her craziness. )(-0s8-0974-09dlhalkfuy9-48y [0-0=--+_)+-0_)(_(*(%&%49087KJoi*()*&)(*&^ WAAAA~H! T_T I needed to write a weird chapter.. but I kind of confused myself in the process of writing it! DX I didn't know where or how to end it, sorry if it's really awkward to you! Well, Akiko is in it, and she needs to be there. Ano... I don't know. Things are starting to get a little crazier. And I'm sorry about this not being as fluffy or as cute as the other chapters, it's going to start getting a little sadder now, which makes me sad, but yes! But I'm gonna stop talking before I give away the rest of the story! Ja ne! good day ♥ mood: busy music: Gazette - Filth in the Beauty |

Title: One out of None Band: The GazettE Pairing: Reita x Ruki Genre: AU (highschool), Humor(maybe?), Some Craziness Rating: PG- 13 Summary: Reita is the new kid at school. After being shunned and beaten at preivous schools he doesn't know what to think when the happy-go-lucky Ruki drags him to meet his friends. After Reita's troubled past, will he be able to makes friends again? Reita's POV. (OCCness and my own characters will be in this.) Disclaimer: I do not own them! At all! Never will T.T Chapter 3: ~Covering up the fine lines~Chapter 2: {I'm in the kichten, boiling society.}Chapter 1: [You'll see them. They'll be standing there, watching.]Chapter 4 (x) (X) (x) "Reita-kun?" I heard the knock on my door again. But I ignored it. "Reita-kun? Are you okay? If you don't get up now you'll be late!" Nakamura-san's voice rang through the door. "Nakamura-san, I'm not feeling well today. Is it alright if I stay home today?" I secretly knew that she loved it when I called this place home in front of her. "D-do you have a fever, Reita-kun? Are you alright?" She sounded slightly panicked. "No! No! I just feel drained. Is it okay if I just stay home and sleep?" I heard her shift in her spot. She was silent for a moment. "Alright, I'll call the school. Do you need anything?" "No, thank you, Nakamura-san. I just need some sleep." She hesitated again. "Okay, but if you need anything, just yell, okay?" "Alright." I said weakly. When I heard her retreating footsteps, I let go of the breath I was holding. I sat up on the futon and looked around my room. It was a disaster. I was praying that she wouldn't come in and see what I did in my rage. It literally looked like a storm blew throughout my room. I pulled my knees up to my chest and laid my forehead on my knees. I couldn't look at it anymore. Damn my stupid mouth. I couldn't believe that I just blurted that out to Ruki like that. I felt my cheeks heat up at the realization. What did Ruki think?
He did say that he was bisexual.I quickly shook those thoughts away from my head. I didn't want to get my hopes up. I never knew that I'd tell anyone but her that I was also bisexual... leaning more towards gay. I couldn't help it. I looked at the broke object to the left of me. I didn't even know what it was. I took one more glance around my room before going back to my former position in a ball. Posters were ripped and thrown on the floor, trinkets were broken and lying on the ground, there was a hole in the wall from where I punched it, even my bass was lying forgotten and possibly broken on the floor. I didn't care. Wiping the annoyance away from my eyes, I stood up and began to clean up before Nakamura-san came back upstairs and opened my door. I fixed the hole in the wall, I picked up anything broken and placed it in the trash can. My bass was even messed up. One string was broken and it had a scratch on it. I cursed myself for my blind rage. Wait. Did I just think of her? I shuddered, but wondered what she was up too. No good probably. I chuckled at myself for thinking of my own sister that way. I chuckled feeling slightly better about thinking of her, but continued to clean my room. I fixed my bass as best I could without leaving my room. I put up the posters that weren't too badly destroyed. I looked at my clock which read 10:37. After I thought my room was decent, I crawled back into my futon and tried to fall asleep. ~~~~ Knock. Knock. Knock. I rolled over trying to get away from the obnoxious noise. Knock. KNOCK. KNOCK."Reita-kun! I'm coming in whether you want me too or not!" That voice definitely did not belong to Nakamura-san. Or Ruki. I rolled back over to see that Aoi was standing over me. "WAH!!" I sat up and pulled the covers up to my chest as if covering myself even though I was still fully clothed. "Jeez, Reita-kun. I'm not that scary!" He said kneeling down. I quickly brought a hand to my face and was thankful that forgot to take my face wrap off last night. "I know. It's just I wasn't expecting you.... Why are you here, by the way? And how did you find out where I live?" I asked, lowering my hands and the blanket. Aoi shook his black hair out of his face. "I came because I need to talk to you. And Ruki-kun showed me. He's really worried about you, ya know." I looked around my room to make sure there wasn't anything unusual that Aoi could report to Ruki. "I know." "Come on. Get dressed. I'm taking you out." ~~~~ "You aren't taking me to a strip club are you?" I asked as I sat in the passenger seat of Aoi's car. Aoi gave me an awkward glance and laughed. "No no. I'm not taking you to a strip joint. Only Ru-kun does that." I sighed a sigh of relief. I don't know if I could handle another heart attack from these guys. "So where are we going?" "Just this place not too far out of town. It's really nice. You'll see." Aoi turned on the radio to discontinue any conversation. I wondered what Aoi wanted to talk to me about. Probably about Ruki. That wouldn't surprise me in the least. ~~~ "Well, we're here!" Aoi pulled over on the side of the road. There were no buildings around. There was basically nothing around, except fields. "Where?" Aoi chuckled at me. "Just come on." We got out of the car and jumped the guard rail and walked into the field. It was nice. There was a light breeze that swayed the long grass surrounding us. The sun wasn't to bright so the day wasn't too hot. There was a line of trees not that far away. "Reita-kun! We are going over to those trees!" Aoi shouted over the wind. "Okay!" When we reached the trees we sat down in the shade and looked over the field. The trees were on a slight hill so you could see the rest of the field and the road perfectly. It was a beautiful sight minus the road. "You're wondering why I brought you up here, aren't you?" I nodded. Aoi didn't say anything for a few moments. "Did Ruki-kun ever ask you not to call him a name?" "Yeah, Takanori." "Right. Did you hear Sukie-san call him that?" "Yes." "Did he tell you why he doesn't like that name?" "No. I just know that he gets really angry when someone calls him that." I said, moving so I was sitting Indian style, holding my ankles. "Exactly. He hates that name. And there's not much too it, and he asked me to explain it to you because he's to much of a coward to tell you himself." "What?" I asked, not exactly understanding. "It's simple. Ruki-kun hates the name Takanori because his parents gave it too him. That's basically all. Except he didn't have the best relationship with his parents to begin with." "You mean that...?" "No, Ruki-kun wasn't beaten as a kid. His parents never laid a hand on him, which is part of it. They just completely ignored him. His mother worked, while his father sat at home and didn't do anything. He never went hungry or anything. It was just like he was alone in the house, and he hated it. Ruki-kun is honestly afraid of being alone. So at the very end, his parents talked to Sukie-san and asked if she would take him in. She said she would, obviously. Sukie-san never adopted Ruki-kun, they just happen to share the same apartment. There’s nothing special there. And as to why he calls her ‘Oka-san’. No one knows. I don’t even think Ruki-kun know. I really think he just does that to annoy Sukie-san.” “So you mean, Ruki-kun’s parents basically just told him to go stay with Sukie-san?” “No, they didn’t even do that. Ruki-kun came from school and all the stuff in the place was gone. Everything except all the stuff in his room, which was untouched. No note, no phone call, nothing. His parents cut off everything before they left. They didn’t even leave him money.” “So then what did he do? I mean, that had to have been hard on him, them just leaving.” Then Aoi laughed. “Nope, the first thing Ruki-kun said was ‘Good Riddance!’ I would know, I was there with him.” I gave him a shocked look. “I think I was more shocked about it than Ruki-kun was. We sat in his completely empty living room and talked and as we were talking, Sukie-san came in and explained it all to us. It was really strange. So I helped Ruki-kun pack his things and move them into the empty room in her apartment.” Aoi smiled as he looked down at the grass he was playing with. We were silent for a minute. We just listened to the wind blowing around us, ruffling everything. I was surprised when Aoi spoke, and even more surprised at what he said. “So you told Ruki-kun that you like him, neh?” I blushed heavily. “That was rather random! But how did you know?” Aoi chuckled. “Ruki-kun told me. Don’t worry, he didn’t tell anyone else. Ruki-kun and I are like brothers, we’ve been best friends forever.” The conversation went from one thing to something else completely different. “What else did he say?” I said quietly, I didn’t want my voice to betray me. “Hmm? Oh, yeah. I don’t know if I should tell you.” Aoi said glumly. I looked at him and he smiled. He pushed me lightly on the arm. “Calm down man!” His smiled widened. “He was shocked at first because you never gave any sign of liking him or liking guys in general, but then when he thought about it, he became super happy. That’s why he was so worried today when you didn’t show. And he was scared that you were mad at him so that’s why he sent me. Well, I volunteered, but Ruki-kun was the one that literally dragged me all the way to your house.” I smiled a little at that, only because I could see Ruki actually grabbing Aoi and pulling him along the street. "So what do you think?" "About what?" "So are you and Ruki-kun going to get together or something?" "I-I don't know. I haven't talked to Ruki-kun yet. I don't even know what he thinks." Aoi made a 'Hmmm' noise like he was thinking. "You should ask him how he feels. He can tell you better, than I can." Aoi stood up and stretched. "You know you are the only other person that knows what really went on with Ruki-kun. Uruha-kun and Kai-kun don't know, neither does the rest of the school." "So you and Uruha-kun are step-brothers? Is that it?" I asked. "Yeah, unfortunately. Do you know how hard it is to live with someone like Uruha-kun?" I chuckled. Aoi chuckled too. "He's so fashion obsessed it's ridiculous! It seriously takes him an hour to pick out an outfit!" I was laughing really hard by now, and Aoi joined me. "No, but he's an alright kid. It's cool to hang out with him. I'm glad that we get along, because I'd hate it if we fought all the time." I nodded. "Yeah, I understand that. I haven't told anyone this, but I have a sibling." "Do you really?" Aoi smiled at me. "Younger or older?" "Slightly older... We're twins." Aoi gaped at me. "Brother or sister?" "Sister. And she's just as ridiculous as Uruha-kun! But don't tell Ruki-kun about her, okay?" I felt bad about trying to keep this a secret from him, but I didn't want him to ask questions. "Why not?" "I just... I don't want to answer a lot of questions about her. That's all." Aoi's smile hadn't completely faded from his face but soon brightened again. "Jeez, Reita-kun! It's impossible to get anything out of you! You hide things too much. You need to let loose a little more." He patted me on the back. "Come on, lets go back. I'm sure Ruki-kun is flipping out by now." (x) (X) (x) "Moshi moshi?" "Ruki-kun?" I asked into the receiver. "REITA-KUN?!" I quickly jumped and pulled the phone away from my ear as Ruki screamed into the phone. "OH MY GOD!! I'M SO SORRY! PLEASE FORGIVE ME! I'M NOT SURE WHAT I-" "Ruki-kun!" "Yeah?!" He was panting from nervous and his outburst. "Calm down and shut up for a minute." He took in a deep breath and said, "Okay." I also took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. "I meant what I said last night." "What part?" "What do-? The part where I said that I like you. Nobody but this one person knows that I like guys." "Is that other person Aoi-kun? And I promise I didn't tell anyone else but Aoi-kun! I swear! And and and!" "RUKI-KUN!" "I'M SORRY!" Pause. "Can I explain now?" I rubbed my forehead, I felt a headache coming on. This was going to be harder than I thought. "Yes." "Okay. Ruki-kun. I like you, more than just a friend, alright? I needed to tell you that. I wasn’t expecting myself to say it and that’s why I ran away. I’ve lived so much of my life hiding, it becomes awkward if I even try to open up in the slightest. I’m sorry that I just left you in front of my house last night without explaining anything. To tell you the truth, I'm amazed that I'm even talking to you right now. I guess it's everything that Aoi-kun said to me today that made me want you to understand me a little more. I won't tell you everything. Not now at least. Give it a little while. And... I'm not sure what else.... It's tha-" "Rei-kun?" "Yes, Ruki-kun?" I held my breath not sure of what to expect. "I hate talking on the phone about stuff like this... Can you meet me somewhere?" I gapped at the phone for a second. "Ye-yeah, su-sure. Where do you wanna meet?" "Umm, how about that park that's near your house? Do you know where that's at?" "Yeah." Of course I did, whenever I couldn't handle the silence of Nakamura-san's house I walked over to the little park. "Okay, meet me there, in 10 minutes." I nodded even though he couldn't see me. "Alright." Then he hung up. I turned off the phone and set it next to my on my bed where I had been sitting. I stood up and quickly changed my clothes and ran down stairs. "Nakamura-san, I'm going to go out and meet a friend for a few minutes. I'll be back before 9." "Okay! Be careful out there, Reita-kun!" I pulled on my shoes and grabbed my coat. Wrapping the coat tightly around my body when a gust of wind blew past, I walked the three blocks to the small park. I took my time in getting there, because I knew it'd take Ruki a while to get there. I didn't know exactly where he lived, but I had a vague idea. I stared at my feet as I shuffled along. The cold breeze made any signs of a headache vanish. My mind began to wonder to things that might be said. Ruki might reject me. He might like me back. How would things at school be? How would Uruha and Kai feel about this? I already know how Aoi feels. What about sdghfkjh89djfhgkjh <(my mind got completely jumbled up right then). Before I realized it I was at the park. I looked around and sat that a small figure was sitting on the swing with their back faced towards me. "Ruki-kun? How'd you get here so quick?" He leaned back in the swing so that he was almost up-side-down looking at me. "I drove!" He sat upright and spun the swing around so he was facing me, then pointed to a car parked next to the sidewalk. "...They let you have your drivers licenses?" "Hey! Of course!" "How long have you had your licenses?" I asked, still not believing it. I didn't think Ruki would hot-wire a car, but you never know with Ruki. "Um, not that long, but I've been driving for almost 2 years now; thanks to Sukie-san." "Oh really? That's cool. You must be one crazy driver if you got here before I did." "Yup, and surprisingly enough, I've never been pulled over." We laughed. Then we were silent. Then it became awkward. Oh bless awkwardness. "So um..." I heard chains rattle and footsteps run towards me before I felt something collide with my front. "Uff!" Ruki suddenly wrapped himself round my middle and buried his face into my coat. "Rei-kun, I like you. I didn't want to tell you on the phone because it seems so informal. You're so different than everyone else, and I really like that about you. You're attractive and you have a wonderful and caring personality. I just wanted you to know what I think of you and how I feel." I wrapped my arms around him after he stopped talking. "Ruki-k-" "What kind of cologne do you use, Rei-kun? I really like it!" I chuckled. "Thanks. Jeez, Ruki-kun, you sure know how to ruin the mood." Ruki looked up at me with wide eyes. "What do you mean, Reita-kun?" I shook my head and stroked his head making him lean into me again. "So what does this mean, Ruki-kun?" I placed my lips ontop of his head as if I were kissing him but just stayed there instead of bringing my head back up. Ruki's hand rubbed up and down my back, sometimes reaching a little to close to my ass. "Ruki-kun?" "Rei-kun, will you go out with me?" I blushed at the innocences of the question, even though he probably wasn't intending it to just be innocent. "Yeah, I will." I gave him a slight squeeze for reassurance. He squeezed me tighter too, but this wasn't just a light squeezed. "Okay, Ruki-kun. Oh yeah, was there anything else you wanted to talk to me about?" He looked up at me with a smile, but soon faded the littlest bit. It wasn't anything noticable, but it was still there. "Not at the moment!" He said, his smile brightening to cover up the faulter. "I'm too excited to talk about anything else! Reita-kun is now my boyfriend!" I blushed heavily at how bluntly he said it. "I have to tell Aoi-kun!!" Before I could even realize what had happened, Ruki had turned around in my arms and was sending a text message. "Chotto, chotto!" "Done!" He announced in a sing-song voice. "Oh yeah! And Kai-kun said something that we should start talking about practices and whatnot." "Okay." The feeling of holding Ruki was wonderful. He leaned his head back onto my shoulder and closed his eyes. "This is all so sudden and strange to me." I mummbled. Ruki opened his eyes and looked at me best he could from the position he was in. "Is this bad? I mean because if you - " "No! This is just.. the first... in a long time, and the last..." I gulped, I could tell my nervousness was seeping into my voice. I cleared my voice. "It didn't.. um, end so well. Nevermind, it's not important. Let's not go there." "Is that another thing you'll be hiding from me forever?" I smiled at him. "More than likely." He rolled his eyes returned to his former position. "Come on, I'll take you home, it's getting cold." I unwrapped my arms from his shoulders. "I'm not so sure I want you taking me home. I don't even know what your driving is like and I'm already afraid of it." I said, not moving from my spot. "Don't worry! Just because none of the other guys ride with me doesn't mean I'm a bad driver!" He said confidentially. "Uh uh! If Aoi-kun doesn't even ride with you, then I sure as hell am not!" I turned to walk in the direction from where I came. "Rei-kun!" I began to jog. Ruki chased after me. When he stumbled but managed to keep his balance we laughed. So things weren't going to change much between Ruki and me. Things were going to get even better. Maybe it was time to get the chisel to the wall. mood: apathetic music: Beast of Blood - Malice Mizer |

At all! Never will T.T A/N: T_T I'm sorry this took me so long to update! First I had a minor case of writer's block which turned into a major one, and then I got kidnapped by friends for a while. Gomen! But I hope you like the third chapter! Personally, I'm disappointed in it... Chapter 2: {I'm in the kichten, boiling society.}Chapter 1: [You'll see them. They'll be standing there, watching.](x) (X) (x) Chapter 3 (x) (X) (x) They’ll never know. No. They’ll never find out. I’m scared. Always have been. It’s been 3 years. I was 12, almost 13 at the time. “How could you?”“Why did you do it, Reita-kun?”Stop. “What happened, Ototo-kun?”The familiar voices rang through my head. They were familiar yet so distant. I almost didn’t recognize them. Go away.“Reita-kun! How could you?!”Stop. “Reita-kun.” “STOP!” my hands automatically shot up to my ears. I felt the hands on my shoulders tighten and begin to shake me. I slowly opened my eyes to find Nakamura-san kneeling above me. She smiled when I opened my eyes completely, suddenly fully alert. “Ohayo gozaimasu, Reita-kun. You need to get up or you’ll be late for school.” Her hands let go of my shoulders. I sat straight up. “Ohayo gozaimasu, Nakamura-san. Gomen nasai....” “Oh don’t worry about it!” Nakamura-san shook her hands in front of me. “Now, time to get up. Breakfast is ready.” She smiled at me again and walked out of the room I was staying in, and closed the door. I pushed the covers off of me and rubbed my face. I stood up and looked around my room. It was fairly clean, and pretty small, just enough room for a futon, a dresser and my [beloved] bass. I don’t know how I managed to talk them into getting me one, but somehow it worked. I got out of my pajama’s and into my only clean school uniform. After throwing my shirt over my head, I looked out my window to see the gloomy day forming. I sighed, but quickly finger brushed my choppy blond hair and tied my face wrap around my face.. I went down stairs and went to the dining room where breakfast was set up for two. Even though she was married, Mr. Nakamura was never home. He was always on business. I only met him for a few moments the day I moved in before he said he had to leave. While I was eating, Nakamura-san came into the dining room and sat across from me. “Reita-kun.” “Hai?” I stopped eating. I was hoping she wasn’t going to ask about why I yelled ‘stop’ this morning. “Are you feeling alright today? You know you can stay home today if you want." She said in her sweet voice. I shook my head. "No I'm fine, really." We finished eating in silence, which was okay. Nakamura-san is very nice and excepted me unconditionally. I finished up eating in record time and quickly went back upstairs to brush my teeth and grab my backpack. I ran back down stairs and slipped on my shoes. “Reita-kun!” I was stopped from opening the door. “Hai?” Nakamura-san smiled at me from the hallway. “Have a good day at school!” I smiled at her. “Arigato!” I ran out the door and down the sidewalk. Opening the gate, I practically ran into someone. "Gomen na- Ruki-san!" “Ohayo, Rei-kun!” he smiled at me. I stared at him. “Ohayo gozaimasu, Ruki-san.” his smiled hadn’t faded at all. It scared me a little bit. I yawned widely, causing my eyes to water. “Reita-kun? Are you alright?” Ruki asked. I shrugged. “Eh, I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night.” Ruki nodded. “Yeah, you don’t look so good.” He paused as he looked at my face. I refused to look at him though, knowing that he was giving me a heart wrenching stare. “Did you sleep at all last night?” “Barely.” I said bluntly. Ruki’s expression became worried. I wanted him to stop looking at me like that. “Why not?” “Why not what?” “What didn’t you sleep much last night? I paused for a moment. I wasn’t about to tell Ruki what I couldn’t accept myself. I watched my feet as I continued to walk to the school, Ruki along side me. “I’m not sure. I just couldn’t.” Ruki stopped walked and grabbed hold of my arm making me stop as well. Ruki looked up at my with a serious look, something I had never seen before. “Ru-.” “Reita-kun. If there’s something bothering you, you can tell me, alright? I just wanted you to know that. I’m good at keeping secrets so you won’t have to worry about the others knowing. And I know that if you don’t feel comfortable enough to talk to me, you can always talk to Kai. He’s a good listener and always gives good advice.” He said, taking in a deep breath. He said all that in almost one breath. Crazy person. “Listen, Ruki-san.” “Drop the –san.” I paused for a moment before I finally understood what he meant. “Listen, Ruki-kun. There’s a lot you don’t know about me, that’s why on the first day of school I told you not to talk to me. I’m under a lot of stress right now. I’m sorry, I’m worrying you. But please, don’t.” I ripped my arm out of Ruki’s now limp hold. I turned on my heel and walked the rest of the way to school with tears streaking my face. (x) (X) (x) “Reita-san?” “Hai?” I turned in my seat a little to see Kai’s worried face looking down on me. “Are you okay? You seemed very upset this morning. If you need to talk you can-.” I cut him off. “No really, Kai-san. I’m fine.” “Ruki-kun said that you were under a lot of stress. Anything we can help you with?” I shook my head. I looked down at my lap. This was starting to get ridiculous. “No, Kai-san. I’m fine, please, don’t worry about me.” I said not looking up. Kai must have knelt down because the next thing I saw was Kai face. A little shocked, I jumped slightly and looked at Kai. “I’m having everyone over my place tonight for dinner, you wanna come? It’s just going to be the 5 of us if you come. My parents are away on business right now, so you won’t have to worry about impressing anyone. Plus you can’t impress with Ruki beside you.” I chuckled a little at Kai’s comment about Ruki’s behavior. Kai smiled brightly when I laughed. “So how about it? You coming?” The smile not leaving my face, I nodded. “Alright. When and I have no idea where you live.” Kai thought for a moment before saying. “Why don’t you just walk home with me? You can use Ruki’s cell phone to call your parents that you are coming over to my house.” “Alright, I’ll just tell my -.” I suddenly felt like I had been kicked in the stomach. “Reita-san?” “Yeah, I’ll just tell them.” Kai tried to hide the worried look on his face, but failed. “Alright, let me get Ruki’s phone, I’m sure he won’t mind. I’m glad you decided to come over. I cook pretty well if I do say so myself.” With another smile at me, Kai went back to the usual corner to get Ruki’s cell phone. I slouched in my seat and sighed. I was tired as hell. I closed my eyes and folded my arms across the desk, laying my head on them. I didn’t realize how bad my eyes were burning. I had no idea how long I was like that before something disturbed me. “REI-KUN!” I jumped a foot in my seat, I swear. I was definitely not expecting Ruki to shout in my ear. With a hand on my heart and my eyes wide, I watched as Ruki bent over, holding his stomach laughing. “Ruki-kun! That wasn’t nice!” Aoi shouted from the corner of the room, but he also couldn’t help but laugh. Uruha was basically on the ground laughing. I was still too shocked to say anything. My heart was trying to break my rib cage, I bet. Ruki had both knees on the ground, he couldn’t stand up anymore he was laughing so hard! He slid his cell phone on my desk, but continued to laugh. “Ruki-kun! Are you trying to give me a fucking heart attack?!” I finally said. I wasn’t angry, just shocked. “Here…*snicker* you go… *chuckle* Reita-kun.” Then he literally fell on the ground, holding his stomach laughing. I glared at him, and kicked him in a shin. Lightly though, I’m not that mean. I grabbed his cell phone and stood up. Only then did he get his laughter under control a little more to talk properly. “Where are you going, Rei-kun?” “Outside so I can hear.” I began walking towards the classroom door. Ruki caught up with me. “I’m coming with you, ‘kay?” “No, please, just stay in here. I promise I won’t look through your phone or break it or anything. I’ll only be a couple of minutes.” Ruki stopped walking. “Alright.” He sounded a little disappointed but turned around and went back into the classroom. I found the nearest staircase and sat down. I dialed the unfamiliar phone number. It rang three times before someone answered. “Moshi, moshi?” a female voice said on the phone. “Nakamura-san? It’s Reita. I was wondering if I could go to a friend’s after school.” (x) (X) (x) Kai and I reached his apartment. It was further away from the school than where I lived. The others were coming over later, they all went to their houses to get changed and tell their parents. I took off my shoes and entered Kai’s rather large apartment. “You can come in the kitchen with me.” Kai said with a smile. I followed him into his kitchen where a small table had been placed. I took a seat and watched as Kai began to prepare dinner. We were quiet for a little while. Kai seemed to know what he was doing. He seemed almost motherly. In a way, it was comforting, but it was also kind of creepy. “Reita-san, I don’t want to sound rude, but I would like to ask what’s wrong with you.” I stared at my hands that were on the table. “I just didn’t get a lot of sleep last night.” “And why not?” “Because I had a few things on my mind.” “What could be so big that you had to lose sleep over it?” Kai still hadn’t turned around, he just made the preparations. It was starting to piss me off. I glared at his back, I’m sure he could feel it. “No offense, but it’s none of your business.” I retorted. “None taken, but if it’s bothering you so much that you can’t sleep and you’re this stressed out, then maybe you should talk to someone about it. I’m sure Ruki told you that you can talk to him.” “Yeah, he did.” I turned my gaze back down to my hands on the table. “It’s just…” I started, but didn’t finish. I did want to tell him, to just get out there, but I wasn’t allowing myself too. I just refused to let myself be even remotely open. “It’s just…?” Kai questioned, turning around finally, leaning his back against the counter and folding his arms in front of him. I hesitated, but thought that maybe it was time. I felt my face beginning to flush. "I've only told one other person this and I'm really scared to tell anyone else." I paused for a second thinking of how to say it without being to blunt. "In a way, I'm like Ruki." We were silent for a moment. "What do you mean by that?" Kai's voice didn't sound judging or testy, he just sounded confused. I took in a deep shaky breath. "Simply what I mean is I think I li -" “KAI-KU~N!” Ruki shouted as he opened and slammed the door. “Ruki-kun! Please don’t slam my door!” I gave Kai a pleading look, in which he gave me a understanding nod in return. Ruki suddenly popped his head into the kitchen. “Kai-kun! Rei-kun! How are you?” "I'm fine, Ruki-kun." “Recovering.” I said not looking at anything but my hands on the table. My face still burning. “Recovering? From what?” Ruki asked the question that Kai’s look was saying. “From my heart attack.” I said, smiling a little at the table. I needed to put my act back together. Ruki laughed, and just didn’t stop for a while. “You should have seen your face, Rei-kun! It was priceless!” He stumbled over to me and slung his whole body onto mine from behind. He wrapped his arms around my neck and placed his cheek against mine. "I'm sorry I gave you a heart attack Rei-kun. But I couldn't pass up the opportunity." He chuckled. "Yeah, well, thanks a lot Ruki-kun. I don't think my heart will be the same ever again." Ruki laughed again. He let go of me and sat on the chair on my right, with his back facing Kai. I smiled up at Ruki just to make certain that he knew I was just joking around with him. He smiled widely at me. His smile made me so happy. "So Ruki-kun, when are the other two going to be here?" I was so thankful that Kai had gotten Ruki's attention because right then my cheeks decided to turn a nice shade of red. Jeez, was that all I could around this kid was blush?! "Hmm, I'm not sure, but you know those two, they'll be here soon enough. And they’ll show up together.” “Well of course they’ll show up together! They live in the same house!” Kai said still cooking. I looked between Ruki and Kai. Ruki had found something interesting on the ceiling and Kai was obviously cooking. “Wait. They live together?” I said looking at Ruki who’s eyes traveled down to meet mine. He sat up straight in his chair. “Yup that’s right. Those two had run away together a long time ago. Their lovers you know. They-” “They are NOT, Ruki-kun! Don’t tell Reita-kun lies! You really are a bastard.” He said the last part playfully, but I don’t think Ruki took it that way. “Uruha and Aoi are step brothers. Aoi’s mother married Uruha’s father. That’s just how it ended up.” “Ru-kun, were you telling Reita-kun that dumbass story about Uruha and I again?” Aoi randomly walked into the kitchen, scaring everyone in there already. Aoi laughed when he saw the guilty expression on Ruki. “Oh, hi there, Aoi-kun! What took you guys so long?” Aoi rolled his eyes and took a seat across from me at the table. “Uruha had to figure out what to wear.” “It took him that long to pull out a pair of pants and a shirt to wear? You guys live 5 minutes in walking distance from here!” Uruha walked in just after he said that. “It didn’t take me that long, Aoi-kun.” Uruha said dangerously. “Yeah yeah whatever." ~~~~~ The night went on with some yelling, laughing, lots and lots of eating, and stories. We sat around the table and talked and laughed like old friends who hadn't seen each other in years. Uruha and Ruki had the funniest stories. They are always good for a laugh. Everything was going wonderfully until Uruha came up with an unfortunate idea. "Let's play truth or dare!" I hate this game. I don't pick dare often, so that means I have to pick truth. Truth means opening up. Reita doesn't do 'opening up'. "Oh oh! I'll go first!" Ruki said, practically standing up on his chair. "Okay, Ru-kun, don't have a fit." Aoi said, placing his chin in his hand, watching Ruki from across the table. Ruki then turned to me with a huge wicked grin on his face. I had a horrible feeling run through me. "Rei-kun! Truth or Dare?" "Umm, can I... not play?" A bunch of whines came from everyone at the table. I closed my eyes and shook my head. "Fine, fine. Truth." "Awe! That's no fun! Fine... Rei-kun, tell me why you wear that thing around your face." He looked at me with such determination, as if he was really waiting for the real reason. I was quiet. And I think everyone just moved a little closer to the table. I looked around the table with questioning eyes. "Because I can, no other reason really." Everyone seemed disappointed with my answer. "Was... was I supposed to say something different?" "No no. It's just that we - Never mind. Reita-kun, it's your turn to ask someone." Kai said smiling at me. I shrugged. "Okay, Aoi. Truth or dare?" The more the game went on, the crazier things got. I mean, some of the stuff that went on was so ridiculous, I'm still thinking about how it worked out. The craziest thing that was supposed to happen was Ruki dared Kai to go into the street naked and yell “That’s my pee pee!” But Kai ended up not doing it. I could never picture Kai doing something as insane as that. When it got back to me I was shocked at the question Aoi asked me. “Reita-kun, have you ever done anything to land you in jail?” “Do I have to answer that?” I asked, looking around the table with wide worried eyes, cursing myself for not thinking about what was coming out of my mouth. Ruki gave me a mischievous smile. “Oh no… Do you have something to hide Rei-kun?” I noticed that Kai had quirked his eyebrow. I flushed and looked down at the table. “N-no… It’s just that… I’d rather not answer that… It-it’s nothing. No I haven’t, okay?” Ruki gave me a strange look. “I don’t believe you.” Ruki said rather seriously. “Well, believe what you like.” I said rather coldly back. “Okay! Lets… NOT start a fight now, neh?” Uruha said placing his hand further on the table between me and Ruki. I cursed myself again. Ruki gave me one last glare before standing up and stretching. “Well, I think I’m going to go home now. It’s getting late and I don’t want to walk across town in the dark… You never know, I might get raped. “ Ruki winked at Uruha who, in return, licked his lips. I stood up as soon as Ruki exited the room to go get his shoes on. “I guess I’ll go home too. Sorry guys. Maybe I’ll make sure no one gets to Ruki on his way home.” At that, I heard something collide with the floor. I guessed it was Ruki’s shoe. The three of them averted their eyes to the wall that Ruki was behind. “Thanks for inviting me over, Kai-san. I had a lot of fun!” I smiled at them, then turned of my heel and walked to the front door, where I saw Ruki still sitting on the floor, trying to put his shoes on. I whispered to him as if my voice would scare him away. “Ruki-kun? Can I walk with you?” I saw him nod slightly before standing up. “Okay!” I smiled, but he still had his back turned towards me. I wondered if he was going to look at me ever again. Did I do something? I slipped on my shoes and stepped in front of him so I could open the door for him. He hung his head so that his hair was covering his face, but stepped forward through the door. "See you guys later!" Ruki shouted from the door. I stepped out and closed the door. We were quiet and I was getting extremely nervous. I didn't know Ruki knew how to be quiet... unless he was sleeping of course. As we were going down the shift in silence, I began to shift in my spot. "Ru-" "THE ORANGE SLAYED THE RAKE!" He smiled up at me. His sudden outburst made my already weak heart, even weaker. "Ruki-kun? Ummm..." I looked at the roof of the loft, not knowing what to think. "Oh, I'm sorry." I noted that his cheeks had turned slightly pink. "I was singing this one really random song in my head. You were saying?" "I wasn't saying anything. I just wanted to know if..." I trailed off, not really wanting to finish it. "Reita-kun, what are you really hiding?" Ruki looked at me with a more serious look. I shut my eyes and shook my head. "Nothing, Ruki-kun. And even if I was then it wouldn't matter mu-" "Bull shit. You're a terrible liar, Reita-kun." Ruki sounded almost angry. We stepped out onto the street. I followed Ruki because I had no idea how to get to my house from where I was at. "Well, it doesn't matter to you Ruki-kun. Not to sound mean, but it doesn't. Right now, it only matters to me. I don't want to drag you into things, okay?" We were silent, but the air around us was almost comfortable. But not quite. There was something else. "What if I wanna know more about you Rei-kun? What if I want to know whatever it is that you are hiding?" "Who says I'm hiding anything in the first place?" I said to him. "You said it yourself. Like I said, you're a terrible liar. It's easy to read you. And another thing, when you want to cover up an question you don't say 'Do I have to answer that?'. Just shake your head and say 'No, I haven't'. It's not hard." Ruki chuckled. We walked a few blocks down the street towards the school in silence. Ruki still had this small sad smile on his face that made me want to hug him. But I restrained myself. "Yeah, I could have done that..." I said to mostly myself. "You are just now agreeing with me?" Ruki laughed. "You're strange Rei-kun." "Yeah, I guess you are right." We walked past the school. The sun was almost completely gone now, and it was starting to get a little chilly. It seemed like Ruki was deep in thought. "Can I know one thing?" "Maybe." I said glancing at him. He was quiet as if contenplating his question even further. We were almost to my house. "Were you lying about your nose wrap? Is there really some reason behind it?" I paused for a second before saying a low "Yes." "Will you tell me what it is?" "Are you going to keep asking me if I don't tell you right now?" Ruki nodded. I sighed. "I did something awful when I was younger. This is just the reminder that no matter what I do or where I move, it won't change the fact that I still did it." "What did you do?" "I'd rather not get into that right now." Before I knew it we were at my front gate. "Seriously, I don't want to drag you into anything that has to do with me. I'm not the good kid you think I am. I've done terrible things in the past, and I don't want to end up hurting you!" "Well you are hurting me right now by not trusting me enough to tell me!" Ruki snapped back. I shook my head. "No. I'm not telling you. You aren't getting dragged into my fucked up world, okay?" "Why can't you just loosen up a little bit and trust people?" Ruki glared at me from his shorter position. I tried to look into his eyes but it was too hard. "No!" "Reita-kun! Why won't you tell me? You can trust me, I'll listen! Just tell me!" "No! Ruki-kun, even if I did tell you nothing will go away!" I shouted. "I don't want to drag you into my life even though I want to so badly! I want you to know so that I can get closer to you but I can't! I can't let myself be any weaker! I can't tell you because I like you Ruki-kun!" I froze. What. The. Fuck. Did I just say? Ruki stopped glaring at me and relaxed a little bit. My anger made me slip out one of the many things I was hiding from Ruki. "You what?" He said in a disbelieving tone; his eyebrows raised in question. "No-nothing! I didn't say anything! Do-don't tell anyone, Ruki-kun! Go home! Good night Ruki-kun!" I said as I ran into my current home. For the second time that day, I left Ruki behind, stunned. mood: rushed music: Panic! Title: One out of None Band: The GazettE Pairing: Reita x Ruki (duh >_<) Genre: AU (highschool), Humor(maybe?), Some Craziness Rating: PG- 13 Summary: Reita is the new kid at school. At all! Never will T.T A/N: Thank you everyone that reviewed! That really helped! So I tried to update as soon as I could. I hope you like it! (x) (X) (x) "Rei-kun!" I stopped in my tracks. I went to turn around but suddenly found out I couldn't as someone heaved themselves onto my back. I heard something heavy dropped to the ground, I guessed it was their backpack. I grabbed a hold of their legs so that they wouldn't fall, but I didn't more so so that they'd stop digging their knees into my sides. "Ohayo gozaimasu, Ruki-san." He acts so hyper all the time, and I mean all the time. Unless we are in class. Then he's asleep. "Ohayo, Rei-kun! Are you ready for practice?" He cheered into my ear. I dropped his legs, making him slide off my back. I turned and gave him a blank look. He hadn't stopped with this 'practice' thing since he unfortunately found out that I play the bass guitar. It only made it worse when he found out that I had been playing for a couple of years now. "No." I said, turning around and walking through the gates of the school. It's the same thing every morning. It's been two weeks since I started here. Ruki bothers me about stuff, he hops around, we meet up with Uruha, Aoi, and Kai, and we go to class. It's nice to finally have friends. "Mah! Rei-kun! Come on!" I didn't turn around or stop. "Nope." He jogged to catch up with me again so we were now side by side. "Fine then, I guess I'll have to surprise you at your house one day and force you to play the bass for me!" He seemed so happy and proud that he thought of that all by himself. "Ruki-san, you know you say that everyday?" An arm suddenly found its way over my shoulders. Even thought I'm a few inches taller than Ruki, he can still bring it up to my shoulders. "But it's true! I now know where you live!" I looked over at him as best I could without hitting my head against his. "Oh? And where do I live?" I tested him. We stopped walking. He paused for a second, then took his arm off my shoulders and reached into his pocket, bringing out a folded piece of paper. I briefly saw my name written at the bottom of the paper in pencil. He quickly read where I lived and mentioned how that wasn't far from the school. I felt my shoulders drop. "You cheated." "Eh, anything that works, babe." BABE?! He folded the paper up and slipped it back into his pocket. I had the slight impulse to reach my hand into his pocket, pull out the piece of paper, and rip it into shreds. He noticed me watching his hands and smiled. "You know, Rei-kun, we could -uff!" "OHAYO!" Uruha had suddenly showed up between us, his arms around each of our necks. "Ohayo gozaimasu, Uruha-san." I said as best I could for being choked. "Get off me fatty." Ruki pushed his arm off his shoulder. "I'm not fat!" Uruha let go of both of us and folded his arms over his chest and began to pout. I placed a hand on Uruha's shoulder to comfort him. "Don't worry, Uruha-san, you aren't fat. Ruki-san here is just being a bastard." "Oi!" Uruha chuckled. Now it was Ruki's turn to pout. All of the sudden Ruki stopped pouting and turned to around to look back at us. He looked around the grounds. "Uru-kun, where's Aoi and Kai?" Uruha looked over at Ruki. "Umm, Aoi is at home. He said something about something that happened last night and didn't feel like coming... or something." Uruha said. I saw Ruki roll his eyes and mumble a 'Well that's specific.' "And Kai is probably here already, you know how he is. Did you know that you two looked really cute standing there arguing? It was adorable!" Uruha said with a smile. I blushed, and Ruki took that as an opening. He linked his arm with mine as my blush grew heavier. "We are, aren't we?" He rubbed his cheek against my arm. "Oh yeah, we need to find Kai-kun. We have something to tell him!" Ruki said, smiling widely. "Oh? And what might that be? That you two are finally dating?" Uruha joked around. He lightly hit me in the arm to show that he was just kidding. "Not yet, but we do need to tell him that Rei-kun is joining the band." "No, I'm no-." Uruha's face brightened. "No way! Reita-kun is joining us? We definitely need to find Leader-sama now!" "Leader?" I asked, looking between Ruki and Uruha. "Kai-kun." They said at the same time. I figured that much, but I was just wondering why they called him 'Leader'. I felt very uncomfortable with the looks they were giving me. "KAI-KUN!" Uruha suddenly shouted, making me jump a little. He ran away trying to chase down Kai who seemed to have picked up his pace when he pretended not to hear his name being called. Right after Uruha ran off, Ruki grabbed my wrist and pulled me in the other direction, away from the school. "Ruki-san? What are you....?" Ruki looked around the sidewalk suspiciously. "Shh, Reita-kun, why don't we skip?" "We've already been seen by teachers! We'll get in trouble!" I tried getting away but he had a firm grip on my wrist. "Please, Rei-kun? We can go on a date, if you'd like! Yeah, yeah! It'll be fun!" I blushed. A date with Ruki-san? "No. Another time." "Okay, I'll take you out another time and today. Come on, it's much more thrilling this way! It's fun if there's a chance we could get in trouble! We could even go visit Aoi-kun if you want too!" He sounded so happy, and the smile on his face was irresistible. I didn't want to be the one that made him lose that smile. I hung my head in defeat. "I don't know Ruki-san... but if we get in trouble..." "You can blame me! I did it!" If possible, his smile got even bigger. He's so cute. "Oh believe me, I will." (x) (X) (x) "First you drag me out of school... then you take me to a strip club?!" I shouted at him from the entrance of the club. The shy side of my personality was beginning to kick in hardcore style. "Hold on, hold on. I'm looking for someone." He said not looking back and entering the club. He popped his head back out of the door and waved me in. I followed behind him, a lot closer than I meant to because I ran right into him when he stopped and stood on his tippy-toes. He craned his neck and cupped his hands around his mouth. "OKA-SAN!" He shouted. HIS MOTHER WORKS AT A STRIP JOINT?! You could hear a stern voice shout from somewhere inside the club in front of us. "What the hell do you want, Takanori-kun?!" I took a step back from Ruki. I thought he might explode. I knew how much he hated that name. "IT'S RUKI, OKA-SAN! How many times do I have to ask you to stop calling me that?!" He sounded sincerely pissed. "No, how many time do I have to ask you not to bother me at work?" A girl wearing a bright pink wig, a leather dress with knee high boots walked up in front of Ruki. She looked young, about 22 or 23. She wasn't even close to the age to have a 16 year old son! "Yeah yeah, a million times, but I need some money." Ruki said holding out his hand and twitching his fingers for emphasis. "Oh? And who's this behind you?" I hadn't been paying close attention to the conversation, I was too busy looking around the place. I was still really nervous to be in here. Although I did look at her when she said that. I blushed and hid my face behind my hair when I felt her gaze question my face covering. Ruki automatically grabbed me by the arm and pulled me up beside him. "Oka-san, this is Su..su..." "Suzuki Reita." I said bowing. "Hajimemashite." She bowed down as well. "Kobayashi Sukie. You can just call me Sukie. Wow, Takanori-kun you were right! This kid is gorgeous! ... But what's with the..-" "Don't ask about it, Oka-san. He won't tell you. He hasn't even told me!" I still stared at the ground, the blush still covering my face. "Anyways, it's really nice to finally meet you, Reita-kun. Takanori-kun never stops talking about you." She said with a smile on her face. "And I'm not his mother, he just calls me that for some reason. I'm just someone he mooches off of." "Hai..." I said as she began walking away, waving for us to follow. Ruki grabbed my arm and lead me to the bar that Sukie was now standing behind. "So why aren't you kids in school?" She asked as she bent down and disappeared behind the bar. "We're skipping!" Ruki swiveled around in the chair." Oh yeah and could you hold our bags here for us, while we're out?" Ruki stole my bag from my shoulder and threw his and mine on the counter for Sukie. She grabbed them and bent down again. Where does all this random energy come from?! I wondered to myself, looking at him out of the corner of my eyes. Sukie came back up, dropped her purse onto the counter before us, and rolled her eyes. "And I told Rei-kun here that I'd take him on a date, so I need some money!" Sukie stopped rummaging through her purse to look at Ruki with one eyebrow arched. "You aren't planning to drag Reita-kun into your world of guys, loud music, and hyperness are you?" She asked knowingly. Ruki looked over at me and raised an eyebrow. "Loud music and hyperness, yes, of course! But the guys... I'm not sure, I haven't brought it up yet." She rolled her eyes again. "Don't you dare fuck up this boy, understand?" She said, pointing an accusing finger at Ruki. Ruki put his hands in the air to show that he wasn't going to try anything. I chuckled at the shocked expression on Ruki's face. He brought his hands down in his lap only to slam them against the counter making Sukie and I jump. "Guess what, Oka-san?!" "What, Takanori-kun?" Ruki glared at her for a second then continued what he was going to say. "Rei-kun is going to be the bassist!" Sukie looked up from her search, wide eyed. Her light brown eyes first looking at Ruki, then over at me. "Really?!" The blush that had never left my cheeks deepened as I looked down at my feet, making sure my hair covered my face. "I-I'm not sure yet. Maybe..." "That would be so awesome! Reita-kun, you have no idea how much bull I've heard from Takanori-kun.." Ruki angrily said 'It's RUKI!' before she continued, "about this band stuff. I mean, you'll have so much fun with these guys, they can be a lot of fun whenever Takanori-kun here isn't making a complete ass of himself, even though it is kind of funny when he -" "OKA-SAN!" Ruki had gotten off the stool and looked up at Sukie with wide eyes. "Oka-san... Oka-san.... Let's.. NOT mention that incident to Reita-kun, alright?" Sukie already had a hand covering her face, her body shaking a little from laughing. "Gomen, Ruki-kun. It was just really funny." Now I was intrigued. "What happened?" I asked, looking at Sukie with questioning eyes. "Okay, well you see, one night when Tak-" "Alright, that's enough of that Sukie-san. Can we just have the money and go?" Sukie shook her head and lipped 'Another time.' to me. She pulled out a few bills and coins and handed them to Ruki. "Now don't be stupid, Takanori-kun. You be nice to Reita-kun, because I swear if I hear that you've done one mean thing to Reita-kun, I'll be after you and you'll have the torture of a life time." Ruki noticeably shivered. The smile that had been on my face quickly faded. What did she mean by torture? "Have fun you two!" She shouted after us as Ruki grabbed my arm and practically ran out of the building. "So where too?" Ruki asked me happily stretching as the cool air of early spring hit us. He kept his hands on the back of his head. I shrugged but didn't say anything. "Neh? Rei-kun?" He turned around to look at me. "Sorry but I have to ask." I thought about the question I was about to ask, then quickly changed my mind. "Why do you call her 'Oka-san' if she isn't?" I was really going to ask something else, but decided against it. "I don't remember when that started really." He looked up and down the street then waved for me to follow him. We walked down the sidewalk as he continued. "My parents just up and left one day a few years back. I've been living with her ever since. She was my next door neighbor and used to be my babysitter when I was younger." "Sounds like she still is. You need one." Ruki hit me lightly on the arm. He smiled at me though; I smiled back. "You know you are allowed to ask me questions." My smile faded only slightly. "Oh? Okay." I felt kind of confused. "So go ahead and ask!" He said in fake joy, but I think he meant it to sound demanding. Did I miss something? "I don't know what to ask." "You aren't going to ask about Oka-san's comment with the 'guys, loud music, and hyperness' ?" He let him arms drop to his sides where he quickly shoved them into his pockets. He lowered his head so that his hair was covering most of his eyes. "I really don't think it's any of my business..." I started, but didn't know how to finish it. "Please, just ask so I can get it over with." His happy mood seemed to be ruined. I didn't like it. This wasn't the Ruki I knew. I sighed. "What did she mean by 'guys'?" I wasn't sure is that was the right question. But hell, it was a question. "Well, I'm bisexual." he said rather flatly. He glanced at me through the corner of his eyes. "So if this whole thing makes you uncomfortable, than I'm sure you can make it back to school before 1st period is over." he shuffled his feet as we walked. Only when I saw how sad he look did his words really hit me. "NO!" Ruki stopped walking and looked at me with wide, shocked eyes. My eyes matching his same expression. "I mean, honestly! I mean, first you become my friend with no second thoughts and yeah! I'm okay with it, really!" I grabbed his arm and looked into his shock filled eyes. "Listen, Ruki-san. I would never think any differently of you because of that, understand?" Slowly, but surely, he smiled widely at me, and out of nowhere, he wrapped his arms around me. "Thank you, Reita-kun!" "No, Ruki-san, thank you for letting me know that..." I cut myself off. I looked away from Ruki. "Nevermind. So where are we going?" Ruki let go of me, but not completely. He smiled and laughed me. "You're weird, Rei-kun." He let go of me and began walking down the sidewalk. I watched as he continued to get further and further away from me. I watched him walking with his hands behind his head, looking up at the sky. He seemed so happy again. His happiness seemed to have rubbed off on me from the past 2 weeks. I couldn't help but smile more. "Oi! Ruki-san, wait up!" I ran after him. He didn't even turn around as he started to run away. I would have said it. But I didn't want to move again. (x) (X) (x) After I finally caught up with Ruki he asked me a couple of questions like: why I moved here, where I was from, who I lived with, and a ton of other questions. I didn't answer any of them. During the movie, Ruki fell asleep and ended up using my shoulder as a pillow. Which was fine, until he started drooling. After shuddering the first couple of times, I began to not let it bother me. I stroked a few blackish red strands out of his face. He looked so peaceful. I wonder what he'd do if he found out? I thought to myself, shuddering this time because of the thought, not the fact that more saliva when being spilled onto my shoulder. Without thinking, I laid my head on top of his and finished watching the movie. ~ When the movie was over I took my head off Ruki's and began to shake him. "Ruki-san, the movie's over." I heard him mumble something incoherently and shift in his seat. "Ruki-san, wake up!" Man, I really wish I had a chalk board eraser. I thought to myself with a small chuckle. I gripped his shoulder and shook him harder. "Ruki-san! Wake up!" When he mumbled a '5 more minutes', I wondered how Sukie-san could put up with having to wake this kid up in the morning. Being cruel, I quickly removed my shoulder from underneath his head, and winced when I heard the thud of his head contacting with the arm rest. I crouched on the floor so I could see his face and, "HOW THE HELL CAN YOU STILL BE SLEEPING??!" I sighed and hung my head. I pinched his nose, so in response he opened his mouth and started to breath loudly. I let go of his nose and moved for his shoulder again. "RUKI-SAN!" I said louder, not to much louder, but louder. "Hee hee, Rei-ku~n..." he said still sleeping. Was he dreaming about me?! Becoming frantic, I shook his shoulder even harder. "Ruki-san! Wake up!!" Man this kid could sleep. I wasn't sure how to wake him up. I tried shaking him, yelling, holding his nose, giving him a wet willie and pulling his hair (which only got me a smack on the hand). I tried pinching his leg, which seemed to work. His eyes shot open and he jolted a little, when he saw me, he closed his eyes again and laid his head on the armrest. "5 more minutes..." "RUKI-SAN!!" "WHAT?!" He said, sounding just as he did the first time I ever saw him. He sat straight up this time but leaned his head on the back of the seat. Finally! "Don't fall back to sleep! The movie is over and we need to get out of here!" His head slowly came forward and he looked at me in my crouched position on the floor. He looked around the room then back at me. "Where are we?" I literally fell over, almost like what they do in the animes. "Oooh, yeah! That's right! We're at the movie theater! What happened?" He asked, looking at me as I regained my composure. "You fell asleep. The movie's over." "It's over? You mean I missed it?" He stood up and stretched. I stood up too and moved out of his way so that he wouldn't hit me. "Yeah, basically." I looked around the theater. The lights were now on, and no one else was in there except two workers cleaning up the place for the next showing. I watched as he rubbed his eyes, smearing his eye make up just a little bit. I stepped forward and wiped it off, as I did this I said, "You know you drool A LOT when you sleep?" I took a step back from Ruki and watched as he smiled at me and looked at my shoulder. He laughed then nodded. "It's okay, it happens." He said as he stretched his back again. "Oi! You kids!" An older looking worker shouted up at us. "Get outta here!" "Gome-" "Shut it old man. We're working on it!" Ruki said, still stretching. I arched an eyebrow in his direction, but he didn't notice as his eyes were closed. I heard the old man say something rude about us to the other worker, but continued his work anyways. I laughed, Ruki just opened one eye to look at me, but chuckled to himself anyways. ~~~~~ "Thanks, Ruki-san." "No problem, Rei-kun! Anytime you wanna go on a date again, I just tell me okay?" We were standing outside my front gate. We had gone back to the club to get our bags, and Ruki had walked me home after the movies and lunch. It just about the time we would be coming home from school. "Alright." I said. I forced a smile. Suddenly, I didn't feel right, I felt like I was betraying someone. "And if you ever have a problem or something, come talk to me, okay? Ah!" Ruki quickly set down his bag and knelt next to it. He opened it up and looked through it until he found a piece of paper and a pencil and scribbled something on it. He stood up and handed me the paper. "There's my number. Call me tonight, okay? And we'll talk." He gave me a big smile. This time, I didn't even need to force one. "Alright, I'll call whenever I get a chance." He stepped and hugged me again. "Thanks, Reita-kun." He let go and shouted a "Ja ne!" Before grabbing his bag and running down the street. I watched him until he turned the corner and was gone. I shook my head and walked inside. What a weird kid. I thought. I could really get used to that. mood: tired music: BIS - Days |

(I'm really bad at summaries, please read!!) Reita's POV Disclaimer: I do not own them! At all! Never will T.T One out of None Chapter 1 - Damnit (x) (X) (x) Damn. Not this again. I sighed and clung onto my backpack straps and walked up to my new school, the bajillionth one in a year! I'm getting tired of all this moving around. I began hesitate about walking in. I could always just go back. I took in a deep breath and walked completely into the building. The place was huge for just an entrance. I quickly found the office. The only person in there was my new fat, not seeming to know much, principle. "Ano..." "Ah, so you are Suzuki Reita?" "Hai...Hajimemashite." I bowed respectfully. He returned my bow with a nod. He paused for a second to get a better look at my face. “Suzuki-kun, may I ask why you have your nose covered?” I brought a hand up to my nose wrap and hesitated for a second. “No reason really, I just like it this way.” The principle gave me a weird look but soon smiled and nodded at me. The principle began shuffling through some papers. He made an "Oh-ho!" when he found a paper and handed it to me. Taking it into my hands he said, "You are in class D-2. There's the map of the school, so that you'll know how to get there. Your locker number and combination is on the back of the map. The lockers are down the hall and to your left. You're first class has already started it's..." He shuffled around some more papers and read the first line. "World History. And those are your other classes. Good luck Suzuki-kun!" He concluded. I bowed slightly and walked out the door. I sat on the bench in front of my locker, contemplating. I could still leave, I told myself. I shook my head and slipped on my other slipper. Putting my shoes in my locker and closing it, I grabbed my back pack and headed for a staircase. This was going to be fun. Another school to be shunned at laughed at. I was hoping that this place would be different, but then I reminded myself that I thought that about all the others. I chuckled. I walked up the steps to the second floor. The room is at the every end of the hall and on the right. Alright, time to play the role of the dumbass new kid. I pull open the door and didn't bother to look at any of the other students. I walked straight up to the teacher who looked like he was in the middle of a lecture. "Sensei, I'm-" "Suzuki Reita. You're late please introduce yourself and then take a seat behind..." He cut himself off. He turned around and grabbed a chalkboard eraser and threw it at a kid with his head on the desk. "Matsumoto-kun! Wake up!" "WHAT?!" The kid said, startled, after the eraser hit him in the head leaving bits of chalk dust in his hair. He had black choppy hair and a large red streak going through it and he had some black eyeliner around his eyes. How he was allowed to get away with the hair color or the makeup, I had no idea. (Then again I didn’t have much room to talk. I had bleached blond hair with my natural black on the bottom layer.) Pale skin, with light pink lips, and brown eyes. He was so pretty. Some of the other kids started laughing. A dark haired kid with a lip piercing that sat diagonally behind the black and red haired boy tapped him on the shoulder and leaned over his desk to whisper something to him. The multi colored hair kid looked up at me in bewilderness. I quickly put my head down so that my hair was covering my face. "If you would just introduce yourself, then." the teacher said. I hated this part. I'm kind of shy, so talking in front of people isn't something I do often. "Ano. I'm Suzuki Reita." Silence. What? Were they expecting me to spill my whole life story right here, right now? "Alright, if you'll just take a seat behind Matsumoto-kun." He said turning around and heading back to the board. I felt everyone’s eyes on me as I walked to the last row of desks next to the window and sat in the last desk. I set down my backpack and got out a notebook and a pencil to write with. When I sat back up there was a folded piece of paper lying on my desk. A note? I set my stuff on the corner of the desk and unfolded the note. New kid- san, You're extremely cute. But why are you covering half of your face? .. Ruki I looked in the direction of the window. I felt my face become bright red, but thankfully the wrap covered most of my cheeks as well. I figured I would answer this question. Just this once. I turned the note over and wrote. Because I can. I folded it back up and threw it on his desk. Once he saw it, he grabbed it and unfolded it. He turned the paper over and looked at the three words written there. Then he did something I didn't expect. He laughed. "And what, Matsumoto-kun, is so funny?" He uncovered his mouth from trying to muffle his laugh. "Nothing, Sensei! But I think I'm falling in love with the new kid!" I blushed and the dark haired boy that first poked the boy in front of me began to laugh, along with other blond guy not to far away. "Matsumoto-kun! Shiroyama-kun! Takashima-kun! Quit disturbing the class. And leave Suzuki-kun alone!" I blushed and sunk in my seat. "Neh, neh! Ruki-kun! What did he say?" "Takashima-kun! Shut up!" the teacher cried. The blond haired boy also sunk in his seat, while the boy sitting next to me poked him. "Alright then." and he continued with the lecture. I took some notes but was a little distracted. Another small piece of paper landed on my desk. New kid-san, Just incase you haven't been listening to Sensei, which is something I don't normally do, my names Matsumoto Takanori. But if you ever call me Takanori, I’ll kill you, so just call me Ruki. I like you, you seem interesting. We’ll talk more after class, ‘kay? .. Ruki I blushed for what seemed like the millionth time today. I quickly responded with: Ruki-san (not Takanori), I'm not someone you want to talk to. Reita Again, I threw the note over his shoulder, slightly brushing it this time. I watched as he turned his black and red head my way and winked. He read the note and in a spilt second he was facing me while still sitting in his chair, a sort of pissed off, sort of worried look on his face. "And what's that supposed to mean?" he asked. "Matsumoto-kun! Sit down, correctly!" Sensei shouted. I answered him firmly, "Exactly what it says." My face was beat red from all the people staring at us and having a beautiful looking guy so close to my face. "Matsumoto-kun!" "Why? What are you, some sort of monster?" He asked, sarcastically. I didn't blink; I just said one word, "Yes." The look of sudden hurt and confusion covered his gorgeous face. I just looked out the window, making sure that my hair covered my eyes from him. This is why I always get picked on. When I feel like it, I don't know when to stop. I can't make friends because I put up a solid wall. He slid in his seat a little bit. "MATSUMOTO-KUN!" Matsumoto-kun, or Ruki, turned around without another word. (x) (X) (x) "So, are you gonna explain to me why you are such a monster?" Ruki asked me after the teacher had left. I just hung my head, with my eyes directed at the window. No answer. "Well, are you at least going to tell me why I shouldn't talk to you?" "You just said it." was all I said. "Pfft. Whatever, man. I'm still going to talk to you whether you like it or not." He said, confidently. Mood swing! "Then don't be surprised if I don't talk back." I said, looking up into his deep brown eyes. He seemed a little taken aback by my gaze. I knew he could read me perfectly. That I was desperately lonely. "Maaah! Ruki-kun! Get over here! Real quick!" The blond called from the other side of the room, waving him over. Ruki gave me one last look, a look I was not expecting. He gave me a look that said “You better watch out,” but with a slight wink to it. I watched in shock as he joined three other guys sitting in the far left corner of the room. Ruki glanced at me every now and then. I turned away when Ruki and I held eyes for a moment. I went to my backpack and got out another note book and began writing. I was in the middle of writing whatever it was that I was writing when I felt a hand on my shoulder. The black haired boy who sits next to me was behind me. "Would you like to come over and meet the others? By the way, I'm Shiroyama Aoi, but you can just call me Aoi." He smiled at me. I didn't know what to say. I really didn't have to say anything because soon enough he had me from beneath my arm and was pulling me towards the others. I meant to protest but I had lost my voice. I couldn't tell if I was just scared, shocked, or just speechless from all the joy. It was probably all three. Maybe shocked above all else that someone was paying attention to me. Aoi let go of my arm as soon as we made it to the others, but only to have Ruki grab the other one to hold me in place, I guess. "New kid-san, this is Takashima Uruha." He pointed to the boy with the layered blond hair. "It's nice to meet you." He said with a smile. I nodded. Ruki pointed to the only other guy I hadn't seen at all. "This is Uke Kai." Kai waved and smiled widely from where he sat on a desk and leaning against a wall. He seemed to have this calming aura around him. I let go of a breath I didn't know I was holding. "And I'm not sure if this kid introduced himself or not, but this is Shiroyama A-..." "Yeah we already went through that." Aoi said from his position leaning against the wall next to Uruha. Uruha laughed. Ruki rolled his eyes. "Well you could have said that before I did!" "I figured that New kid-san would say something!" Aoi said, playing with his lip ring. Ruki shook his head. "He's not talking to me." Ruki smiled. The others gave him a strange look, and then looked at me. I blushed and turned my head, wanting to pry my arm out of Ruki's grasp but it was too tight. I just looked at the ground, making my hair cover my eyes and cheeks. "Well, that's because you're such a bastard, Ruki-kun!" Kai spoke. Aoi and Uruha agreed. "Oi! I'm not a bastard! Am I?" I'm pretty sure he was looking at me, and waiting for an answer, but I wasn't about to look at him. "I'd take that as a yes, if I were you, Ruki-kun." Kai said with a chuckle in his voice. Ruki made a fake sobbing noise. "I'm not a bastard!" I could hear the laughter in his voice. "So," Kai said, "New kid-san. Do you have a name, or do these numbskulls have to call you 'new kid' all year?" I brought my head up a little bit and looked at him through the corner of my eye, then looked at the hand on my arm. I knew Ruki wasn't going to say it for me, he wanted me to talk. I took in a breath and let it out slowly. "Suzuki Reita." Ruki laughed. "See! That wasn't so hard now was it!" He let go of my arm. I quickly brought a hand up to where he had his hand. "Maybe." I said quietly. Everyone laughed. We were quiet for a little, but just a very short while until Uruha spoke up. “So what’s up with your face? I mean, why cover it?” I lowered my head even more if it were possible. I heard a slap and an “Owe~!” “’Because he can’.” Ruki said matter of factly. They were silent again. I lifted my head a little; I wanted to see what their faces looked like. Aoi shrugged. “Whatever floats his boat; he seems like a nice enough kid.” “Aoi, just because you are a few months older than everyone else doesn’t mean you can call us kids!” Uruha defended. Kai spoke next. “I think it’s cool that he can wear something like that even thought he knows someone might say something hurtful about it. I think that’s admirable.” “Or he’s just craving attention.” Uruha said. There was another smack and another “Owe!” I looked to see Aoi glaring daggers at Uruha. “I think Uruha-kun is more of a bastard than Ru-kun over there.” Aoi said, his voice almost dripping with anger. “The guy is allowed to do what he wants Uruha, so shut your mouth.” Aoi said before Uruha could say anything else. I watched them through a part in my hair. The look on Uruha’s face was priceless. I let out a small chuckle, that soon enough turned into a full out laughter. “Reita-san? Are you alright?” Kai asked, sounding worried. I nodded and covered my mouth, my body racking from the laughter. “Gomen nasai! The look on Uruha-kun’s face was funny and how Aoi was yelling at him.” I had to break off from laughing. “Gomen! Gomen!” I did my best to control the laughing. When I had brought it down enough I looked up at everyone. I felt a lot better when I saw Ruki smiling widely at me. “Gomen! I didn’t mean to laugh. Gomen nasai!” “Stop apologizing.” Uruha said. It wasn’t mean, but it was sharp. “Sometimes I just don’t know when to shut up.” “That’s true.” Kai commented from his position on the desk. Uruha pouted. Kai and Aoi laughed. Ruki was looking at the ground with a finger to his lips. It looked like he was thinking. “Ruki-kun?” Aoi asked, he started biting on his lip ring again. I wondered if that was a sign that he was nervous. “I know! He can be a new member to the group!” Uruha laughed at Ruki. Aoi nodded, and Kai gave Ruki a somewhat disapproving look. “But what if he doesn’t like us, Ruki-kun?” Kai asked, turning his head to the side a little bit, to look at the both of us. I felt all eyes on me. I didn’t know what to say, so I didn’t say anything I just looked at the ground with my deadpan expression. “He was just laughing at us, so wouldn’t that be a clue?” I flushed. I was embarrassed that they were talking about me as I stood there. “Well, Reita-san? Would you like to join the group of crazy bastards?” Ruki said leaning down to look at my face through my curtain of hair. When I finally got the courage, I looked up at all of them. Aoi was looking kind of nervous, almost twitching, Uruha was looking around the room at everything like it was the first time he’d ever seen it, Kai was smiling at me, and Ruki… Ruki was giving me the saddest look ever. I shrugged. “Sure, why not?” Everyone smiled. Ruki hugged my arm and Uruha patted my shoulder. “Welcome to hell.” He said with a smile. I was a little surprised by this statement but let it slide. Nothing can compare to what I’ve been through. Now my life is hell, but I won’t get into that right now. "Students!" Our next teacher came into the classroom. “Well I guess class is starting.” “Well, no shit, Kai-kun!” Uruha said. Aoi and Ruki laughed, Kai blushed a little, but didn’t let it faze him too much. Ruki tugged on my sleeve and pulled me back to my seat. ~~~~~~~~~ It wasn't long after Sensei started that a ripped off piece of paper landed on my desk. Reita-kun, I still don't understand why you aren't 'talking' to me. But you're no monster. .. Ruki I folded up the note and slipped it into my pocket. So this is how this school was going to turn out. Maybe I was right. &%^&^#$#)_()_)()(*$##@&*^ So tell me what you thought? Yes? Thanks for reading!
